I heard yesterday that the Eagles preference is still a  Wafl alignment.And have spoken to a few clubs,not just the Demons..East and West Perth is my guess..

The best model is Perth takes all interstate recruits and the locals play for their WAFL club they were drafted from. My club needs to be sensible and embrace it. We are miles away from the rest of the competition.

There are 13 interstate players currently on WCE list and that could increase by 4 or 5 after the drafts still to come. 
Let us say there will be at least 16.
WCE will want to play, say, 8 or 9 of them every week. That would be half our starting lineup. 
I cannot see that as being very smart. WCE will, sooner or later, be dictating terms to PFC and basically running the show. They will  for all intents and purposes have their own WAFL side again with PFC players being their top-up players. Next they will dictating which of our players are selected and the positions that they will play. 
If we are to take any WCE players it must be maximum of 3 each week with no interference whatsoever.
Yes, we have to be smart but plunging headlong into your best model DD may well make us look stupid instead,
IMHO as always.
 

IMHO taking all the interstate recruits would be tantamount to an alignment.

A max of 3 players with no interference Smokey?  I think it was freeze that said the Eagles wouldn’t stand back and have no say whatsoever, which is probably right .  Of course, that’s unless they change their mantra of “my way or the highway”.  Still, if things go wrong, they have another option….again.

Great to hear someone with Fong's profile saying it like it is. WCE are pretty much the richest AFL club with the biggest membership and arguably the best facilities in the AFL, and they cant afford to run a local WAFL team???

Lol you blokes don’t think losing over 36 million bucks in 18 months is anything to worry about? SS you better hope your rich club doesn’t lose half its pot of gold that flowed in from Subiaco Oval in a short period or I’m sure the purse strings will be tightened very quickly, that means less money to spend on recruiting and the football department.

Neale Fong, now there’s a bloke not qualified to talk about responsible financial management. In charge of a club that fleeced tax payers and small business creditors before he took the reigns and got a wrap over the knuckles by then attorney general and health minister Jim McGinty for spending lavishly on a new office when he was the highest paid public servant as Director of Health.

Smokey it’s highly unlikely WC will pick up 4 or 5 interstate recruits this up coming drafts but well have to wait and see. So much local talent from clubs other than ours to choose from and living under Kim Jong McGowans rule they’ll be wise to pick locally to avoid the home sickness.

These are things to be thrashed out between the clubs like maximum numbers overall, maximum numbers in the league at any one time etc…. But if we experience anything like the injuries we sustained last season are you saying you won’t accept 10 or 12 Eagles listed players suit up for us until the cavalry returns?

DD, if we have 10 or 12 WCE players on board we won't be PFC anymore. It would be an alignment and our destiny will be sealed. PFC will become WCE's defacto WAFL ressies club. It just cannot be allowed to happen.
Young hopefuls from our junior and country zones will see their prospects limited and will look for opportunities at other clubs or disappear to ammos and country  clubs. 

Anyway, God forbid another run of injuries like last season. That is out of our control. 

 

Taking all of their interstate recruits won't happen.
Thank god we have some very influential people in a position to keep the Board honest.
With the help of members of course.
Why would we look stupid when other Clubs are steering clear of it.
Best case scenario they come to their senses & change their decision re their own team. I would prefer that even if it means a review of the rules governing their top up players.

DD they are still an enormously wealthy organisation and spending a mill or so on running a reserves team with no interstate travel unlike the ES reserves/VFL have to do is just pin money for this mega club.
