Thanks Dazz. Injury list is now updated and doesn't make for good reading. Clarke gone for the season. He and Byrne have been our only mids with any kind of run and carry and polish. I guess we need to ask what has caused this spate of injuries. It may be just bad luck, but the sheer number is extraordinary. Having gone through our list, I count 30 players who have missed at least one game through injury. Of course, many of our best players have missed multiple games. I guess things have come full circle for Bush. When he started at Perth we were a bottom 3 side and he had serious hip issues. He went to Claremont, got his body right and played regular finals. As soon as he returns to Perth, his injury recurs and we drop right back to bottom 3. StT talks about the curse of the Buffalo at EF - what curse has been laid on us?
I call it the cable curse - nothing has gone right for us since cable went to EP in 78
Well ain't that the truth. You may have something there PD.

Is McInnes injured again? Hasn't had a stat to half time. He's clearly not right, hasn't fired a shot since he came back from his pec injury. We can't keep having these 0-1 goal quarters. We simply don't have the ability to score quickly enough to get back from even a 4 goal deficit.

Forget the umps.
FMD 2 more players down before half time.
McInnes (1 tackle) obviously and then Nicholas takes a kick in the face.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Sadly the umps don’t make players like Austin Davis continually turn the ball over
He kicked the three best lace out passes I’ve seen, bang hit the player on the tit.
Trouble is they were in black and blue.
Half of our team should be playing ressies they are not up to league standard.
There were a number of players out there today seagulling waiting for someone else to do the hard work.
Gee I hope Moss is putting together a wish list for next season and Bob can awake this sleeping giant he seems to think we have.

Happy with that overall. An honourable loss is all I've ever asked for for most of the last 40 years. WCE losing helps in terms of the only objective we can strive for now: avoiding the wooden spoon. But yet again we can't afford these one goal quarters. Of concern is the fact EP had 76 more disposals, which suggests their work rate was much higher. That said, we were two down for most of the game.

Hopefully McInnes and Nicholas aren't too bad, though it might even be worth just putting Fraser on ice now that our season is over. Injuries are starting to bite for the reserves too. Good win today has them sitting second, but, obviously enough, if we have to keep pushing players up from the twos to cover for injuries, they will be weakened. I'd drop Bird for Steel next week, though he may keep his spot if Fraser and Nicholas miss out. Quill should come into consideration. He's one of those guys that isn't quite there at league level, but he's doing all you possibly ask in the reserves. 24 touches and 2 goals today.

Just read the West match report. McInnes is a hammy, so he'll miss at least 2, probably more. I say rest him for the season. Nicholas concussion, so will probably miss next week only. I would play Steel for McInnes, and bring in Quill to replace Bird. It's not like for like, but Quill can kick a goal or two.

30+, I have real concerns that we will soon be coming out with announcements about 3 or 5 year plans, or playing the kids, or promoting (non-existent) local talent. Hopefully, as you say, the powers that be are working on something.

They decided the game today. That doesn’t happen in every loss.

No, what lost the game was being outrun and out worked in effort by EP for the second and third quarter and getting out scored 9 goals to 3.

Yep, the umpiring was diabolical. They umpired like they’ve never played the game. We get stiffed every week. EP brought the effort and we didn’t for more of the game.
