Disciplining players is all well and good provided it is proportionate, so surely 2 games will be enough. I don't want a situation to emerge like what happened years ago when Rogers and Elari were dropped for some infraction and played reserves for most of the year, despite both clearly being in our best 22. The result of that, of course, was them both leaving the club. It still doesn't explain why Richo is not playing reserves. I reckon this extended squad just has too many players who are not up to league level: Martin, Bird, Browne, Hendo, Eyres, Perkusich, and others who are unproven or borderline: Clark, Hitchcock, Peletier, Jones. Our midfield, touted pre-season as our strength, is paper thin now. We surely can't line up as listed. Regan Clarke has to play midfield, with Hitchcock forward, and Fisher should also go through the midfield, with Davis on he half back line. I am concerned that we will weaken our forward line by throwing guys like Stubbs and Cary into the middle.

According to the club Facebook page both Hitchcock and Martin listed as league debutants for tomorrow.
Ted I agree Fisher to have a run through the midfield. That adds some grunt but I am confused as to why McPartland is not named notwithstanding discipline issues. He had 28 touches in the ressies last game and with rainstorms forecast for tomorrow he should have been included. His tenaciousness at the stoppages will be missed.
To take up the issue of discipline it is my belief is that if they break team rules then they should expect to be dropped. Players should have no doubts about that. There were other issues impacting on the exit of Rogers and Elari and I hope that the same sort of issues are not  in play here.

All of these concerns and questions about selection are valid and they should be asked on the clubs Facebook page in the comment section under the team list post.

From the west:

Perth are facing an unprecedented injury crisis, with star midfielder Chris Masten the latest Demon to be sidelined.Masten is set to miss at least the next three weeks as he battles a stomach ulcer and respiratory infection he was diagnosed with earlier this month. This means the Demons have arguably their eight most important players out with injury as Masten joins Fraser McInnes (pectoral), Brady Grey (MCL), Josh Smith (hamstring tendon), Michael Sinclair (fractured ankle), Brant Colledge (hamstring), Dakota Baldwin-Wright (MCL) and Jack Richardson (hamstring) on the sidelines. The 32-year-old ruptured a tendon in his thumb last year and was battling pain in the area before the weekend’s State game. Perth midfielder Brant Colledge is set to miss at least two weeks with a hamstring injury. Masten had not been feeling well since before the round six loss to Peel on May 8, when he collected just 18 disposals. He was just days later diagnosed with a stomach ulcer and respiratory infection. The West Coast premiership player returned to training on Thursday night, restricted to just jogging laps.Perth football operations manager Trevor Williams said he’d never an injury crisis to a team’s best players like this before.“We all get injuries and at different times you’ve got to deal with it, but the ones we’re experiencing... it is having an impact on our performance,” he said.“It does create opportunities for others and they will get their chance today.“We don’t want to make any excuses. The boys coming in - it’s opportunity and they’re keen to take it.”The Demons have named two debutants in Corey Hitchcock and Christian Martin, while Matt Rogers is likely to captain the side in the absence of Sinclair and McInnes. In good news for Perth, former skipper Corey Yeo will play his second reserves game as he continues to build from a serious knee injury that cost him his 2020 season.

Satan, that is a good summary of where we are at with the availability or otherwise of injured players.
It is fair comment that right from round one we have had to deal with 7 or 8 of our top 12 players unavailable. In fact this week we are missing 9 if you include Corey Yeo.
We are now in round 7 and currently lie 2 and 3 from 5 games played. Our next 8 games will be SF (2), WP (2) S (2) and EP (2).
In my memory the club has never experienced such a prolonged injury list. Our season has been cruelled by it.
My concern has been our depth which before the season started looked to have been improved over recent seasons but could never be expected to fully offset the number of injuries sustained. The impact on our performance has been huge.
As Trevor Williams has said, this creates opportunities so it is good to see two debutants tomorrow.
We have to keep digging into our list and give previously untried players the chance to fill these spots. Will they succeed? We do not know unless they get that chance.

Thats one hell of an injury list for you guys and the Eagles have the hide to whinge about their shortage of players due to AFL injuries and then demanding less restrictions on recruiting when they dont give a rats about the comp.

The WAFC should be looking after the real WAFL teams who need that sort of support, teams that are trying their hardest to win and that respect the comp.

A great team effort, bold and courageous. Perhaps we have a little more depth than I thought.
Fisher was superb on Schloithe as was Hendo on Ninyette.
Now 3 and 3 and West Perth next week at Joondy will be a big challenge.
Today was one week closer to getting some players back from injury One game at a time and maybe we can salvage something out of this season,
