Yes STT it is great to see a club with enough Balls to make the hard decisions and not hang on to duds, otherwise yo will spend 10 years in the wilderness like SDFC have done.

all: I have been unable to find an example of a coach making the gf going the the next year, but there are a few whose clubs' got them the following year:

Dennis Jones WP
Colin Beard SF
Alan Joyce EF; John Todd EF Brad Smith EF
G Farmer EP
Ken Armstrong PFC

some of them had won flags
Harris had not done so, at CL in four years

Great research, Ark.
I think Kiwi rugby league coach Graham Lowe once said: "There are two types of coaches. Those who have been sacked and those who are waiting to be sacked."

AD-- thanks a lot, mate
it is very true; I think there were two great coaches post-war whom have managed to avoid a wooden spoon -- Lewington and Bunton. Bunts got a few in SA coaching Sturt. Even bloody Johnny Leonard got a wooden spoon at CL in 46-- he never botherred after that season.

Can you blame him?

You are a fool of the biggest order laddie.

The moderator has kicked you out of your last 3 lies/posts and still you continue to posterise even though your incompetence helped bury a club for a decade or more.

I love your commitment to your cause though TRSM. When you post a thousand times and get zero support that takes persistence of the most arrogant kind, and I really respect your consistency of stupidity.

TRSM are you coming to the best and fairest? I would love to catch up with you to discuss your reinvolvement with the club they desperately need a interchange stewards assistant or a paperweight.

Go swans in 2021.

Marley again you never let the facts get in the way of your drivel.
My last 3 post are exactly where I left them, otherwise you wouldn't be able to comment. The Moderator will verify he or she has not removed any of my posts, So Marley wrong again. 0/10 you arent going well. I waited for you to come and see me at the last game at EF but of course being the keyboard warrior you are , not enough balls to front me.
From your last post you again made reference to former Directors being sacked, yet I mad further enquiries this week and that did not happen, well not in the last 10 years at least. So come up with some facts, I keep asking for facts but you have none.
I sent you copies of the Annual report that stated that the Board in which you have such great faith failed to invoice $180k for the Comminications tower and if they had done so we would have had funds earlier, but again you ignored the facts.
Harding and Smart are duds, that is why we have wandered sround in the wilderness for 10 years and our incompetent Board did nothing.
So Marley, put up some facts.

I always felt that Stiffy Harding was quite a good coach and got what he could out of his Swans group, I'd like to see him as an applicant at Tigerland. What did other Swans supporters think about Harding, BH what was your conclusion about Harding

Most clubs in WA have medals for the fairest and best player rather than the best and fairest. Pretty sure the Swan Medal follows that grand tradition.

TOO Stiffy was on a hiding to nothing when he took over from Daws straight after our drought breaking 2010 Premiership win.
He had done an apprenticeship with our Colts winning a flag in 2008 there but 2011 we suffered from a massive hangover from the previous season and never really got going not helped either by losing our 3 best players from the 10 GF Krakouer, Twomey & Coniglio to the afl.
In 2012, 13, 14 & 15 we were around the mark but probably peaked before the finals and in his last couple of years the drain of quality players leaving and no quality recruiting due to our financial position at the time finally took its toll and his frustration at times showed on game day when we didnt perform anywhere near how we should have been.
I think his best coaching year was in 2014 where he got a side who had been decimated by players leaving to Subi, WP etc and had been tipped to finish last by all the so called experts in the WA media had us on top of the ladder two thirds into the season but late in the year we were running on empty and limped into the 1st Semi.
I thought he was keen on following the football talent managing path into the future but being an old Claremont boy he might throw his hat in to the ring for the coaching gig.
Whoever gets the role is going to have to have immediate results and not impossible with your continual depth coming through but there would be even more pressure on to succeed than usual with Harris's recent results and then dismissal!

I cannot see the Dees dumping Gary Moss before he has got started.
And Earl is supposedly carrying on in a mentoring role.
Can't see where Harris would fit in though he would continue the Claremont connection started by Dale Ballantyne.
Going through Claremont's list there are some choice pickings that Harris might bring to the club.
No, I am sure it will be what it is....just an unfounded rumour.
