Having just watched PA v Dorks thinking this could be a good game, again I get disappointed. I haven’t seen a game that was half decent So far this season and that includes the boring draw. The umpiring has been abominable throughout as has the standard. Shortened quarters are not one of Dill’s good ideas either. So where to now? Will this be the standard for what was once the greatest football games in the world? In a nutshell, our game is SHITE. I only hope that if the WAFL gets going again, that this festering canker doesn’t infect our local game. Not sure if I can continue watching this trash.

Disagree, 58 - I thought the Doggies v GWS game was well worth watching. Also happy to see the Hawks (who I hate) touching up Richmond.

On the umpires ........ there seems to be a lot of soft shit getting whistled up this season.

At the conclusion of the 2020 season, I reckon there should be a huge asterisk against all team and individual award winners.

On another note - there is no doubt 2020 has lifted the level of OzFooty hyperbole to stratospheric, almost Trumpian levels, across all footy threads. :P

I'm with 58 on this one. The standard of AFL footy stinks. The first game of round 2 where both Rich and Coll could only manage 5.6 each over about 80 minutes of game time set the standard and it hasn't got much better since . This is an ideal opportunity for the WAFL to bring some entertainment to the footy public and get people back on board.

Spot on 58 & BC the standard of afl football currently is barely watchable.

Anyone fortunate enough to have watched some of the superb old WAFL & State Games from the late 70s, 80s & 90s on the waflvideoarchive You Tube channel recently would know it was a far more faster, skilful, watchable brand of football played back then than the overcoached, poor skilled, 36 players around the ball rubbish that is produced these days.
The 2000s generation have been hoodwinked that todays football has never been better but it is usually espoused through those with a vested interest in todays game eg media, coaches etc and lets not forget they were part time players back in the 70s to 90s not full time like this century.
I mean fancy taking away one of the greatest things about our brand of football- the fast leading, strong marking Full Forward who would kick 100 goals a season, take hangers on the Full Backs head each week!
Those of us who know better know they was a far better brand of football played back before the "professional" era!

Stand the Test wrote: We can all agree on this then.

Come on WAFL presidents come out and say it - we don’t like afl and the wafl is going to be different.

Highest score wins not best low score.

The WAFL need to be bold enough to introduce bonus points for kicking 100 points or 20 goals a game whether a team wins, loses or draws rewarding those sides who are producing more attacking football.

We have to dare to be different from the Vic centric comp and attempt to be more attacking and score oriented rather than as you say trying your damned best not to score or limit it.
If I wanted little to no scoring in my sport I would watch soccer exclusively.

Like a good PORT. Kochie says they are due for a couple of wins
(subject to team changes, weather reports & half time scores)

Think I have 5 winners Mike. You have less.. (must be the kiss of death)

Yep only two for me LS, worse than last week. What if I go for Carlton to beat Essendon next week? If the Bombers reserves get up, I will officially claim the title of KOD.

Yep, there’s been a couple of good games....for 2 quarters jack. But the quality of the games in full, compared to previous years season start games is substantially below this year.

As for your last paragraph, is that gobbledygook a tribute to swan42 on your behalf?
