I think there was a massive overreaction to the 16 minute quarters on the strength of one low scoring game. I reckon its well worth a try and once the players adapt the quality may improve because there wont be so much fatigue and maybe it might prevent injuries that happen late in quarters or games due to this fatigue. Even with the shortened quarters there is still more game time than either rugby code or soccer

Are you the new "kiss of death"?

Haha, possibly LS but in my defence I will say that there were a few unexpected results last weekend. Sydney are usually a pretty good bet at the SCG, the Roos were long odds to beat GWS and nobody would have picked Gold Coast to beat the Eagles. Lets see if I can do any better this weekend

Richmond to beat Hawthorn, although I think this may be closer than people think

GWS to beat the Doggies who don't seem to be going very well at the moment

The young Kangaroos to beat the Swans

Collingwood to pip the Saints although St Kilda will be very competitive

Geelong to beat Carlton

Eagles to bounce back and beat Brisbane

Gold Coast to beat Adelaide

Bombers to beat Demons

and my smokey of the weekend

Dockers to get the choccies in a tight encounter with Port

So what are your thoughts LS or anyone else?

Tigers look better without the injured Martin.
Giants (couldn't consider the poodles)
Swans should get their act together
Pies if Eddie plugs in the Pie warmer before the game.
Cats, no problems
Lions if Kennedy plays. He's off the boil
The Sun is shining in QLD
Is Don is Good.
Like a good PORT. Kochie says they are due for a couple of wins
(subject to team changes, weather reports & half time scores)

Couldn't believe how ordinary Richmond were tonight. Hawthorn were allowed to do pretty much as they liked.

Boy, the Dogs looked good last night. They’ve got a few good kids. Too early to call at this point, but this could be a topsy turvey year!

Has anyone got an honest opinion on the female field umpire in the afl?

Statistically there is no difference in her decision making.
