Cardy, dont see why your so excited about Netflix, I had it for a month a got rid of it, loada crap on it, not for me,

Also, its dodgy with smart tvs which i have , doesnt always connect, until we have nbn i would not bother.

Mate I have ADSL and doesnt lag at all... must be your setup
or try another provider...

With Telstra, basically internet Tv is not designed for a country with the worlds slowest internet speed, i like iview but at times find it frustrating when it freezes up half way through rebuffs etc, Im sure it will be a lot better with the NBN, IF it ever arrives in my area, which I think is 2018.

The Swan Districts Football Club would like to assure all of our members and supporters, along with members and supporters of all WAFL clubs that at no time have we supported the removal of the WPFC from the 2015 finals or provided ultimatums for not removing their sponsors logo from their jumpers.

Our football club, along with the other seven WAFL clubs affected, have provided the WAFC with direction to find a resolution to ensure the telecast of the 2015 McDonalds WAFL final series along with the continued telecast of WAFL football into 2016 and beyond’

Yep same with me with NBN 2017 or thereabouts and not going to be NBN to house now but they are putting in Hubs (to save money) from the Hub it will go by existing copper line which will drop it down to 20mbs bit better than the 3/4 I get now though.
To be honest I dont have a problem with lagging etc so doesnt worry me.
I did read that some Networks (probably) Telstra as in with Foxtel that they will give lower speeds to services like Netflix etc... Cthey call it throttling)

Now the solution anyway.. I did have a bit of Lagging when I worked straight from my Router to my TV via WIFI.. Understandable as WIFI was limited to about 50MBS
I fixed that by connecting my box with the ethernet cable direct.
You can buy it and not expensive comes in all sizes.. I got the 20 mtr length
E5 Cable is common but now they have E6 that is supposed to be better. Basicaly it is just an ethernet cable same as you use from your comp to router.
All the computer shops have the cable. I got mine from Arrow as nearby.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_6_cable#/...hernetCableGreen.jpg

You can lay it yourself thru the roof or whatever. In the end I got Jims Antenna's to connect it through the wall space with a plug either end. A lot tidier
Cost me around $100 and was a good distance. their number is Call 1300 733 093
for a quote.

Bottom line this will increase the speed to your TV from about 50MBS appx to up to 1GBPS
You will cut all the problems that can occur with Wireless e.g locations, interference etc etc.

Bottom line go cable for a problem free connection. Cost a bit more but certainly cuts out a lot of stress and lagging etc etc.

Off topic but thought this would help a few guys out.
Any questions let me know.
I did try a booster or relay WIFI Range extender you can put half way available from JB Hifi but found that worked great but on certain days played up.

Your router should have 4 ethernet ports so you can put in cable to different rooms.
The plan I have with Netflix is $11.95 PM which allows me 2 different connections at the one time. Handy if you want to have 2 rooms connected up to the net.

John, your router should connect at 100MBS, we use Netflix via the wireless connection with no lag, you are basically watching utube so if you have no lag on your computer then you will have no lag on your tv. I purchased a wireless dongle for the computer in my guitar room and that pulls up to 600MBS from the router.

In a nutshell Winger all I am saying the Ethernet cable connected to my TV is a lot faster than Wireless. Which is it is.. Nothing more nothing less

John, data between your router and your idiot box is all governed by your internet connection. I'm not disputing that cable is faster than wireless, you have got it wrong. All I'm saying is that you wont have lag between your router and your idiot box if you have a good connection with your ISP. End of story. BTW, I have a mobile dongle that connects at 30MBS and I can pump true HD TV to my idiot box without lag. That's wireless. Cable or wireless they are just as good.

Reading in the worst this morning the WAFC are contemplating playing the qualifying final at the home ground of whoever finishes 3rd (Peel or EP, rather than honouring the club agreements to reward the higher placed League teams as a reward.

Surely someone is taking the p*ss with this article?
