It looks like the Argentinians are gone. Just over 5 minutes remaining in the game and their 2 goals in arrears. France have picked a fairly pacey team and seem fast on the breaks. And the French seem to have had less ball possessions.

Great to hear Uruguay have knocked out Portugal....apparently Ronaldo stole the show by "helping" his injured opponent Cavani off the pitch.....how quickly his diving theatrics will be forgotten now....Ronaldo is certainly a player....on and off the pitch....the PR king of soccer.....LOL.....

Two Penalty Shoot Outs last night and the Russians and Croatians through.

Russia huge effort to date, getting past former champions and highly rated Spanish team.

Croatia were probably favoured to get past the Danish , but had to fight it out to penalties, amazing shoot out with the Danish goalie one of the best on the world succumbing, Croatia's goalie doing a mighty job.

Talking about the World Cup today.And the South American sides and France and others falling on the ground like they have been shot with a large calibre rifile.Brazil look like the masters of this with Nemar.Anyway well done to England and good luck V Sweden.
Sweden look tactically good they gave possession to Switzerland. But scored the only goal of the match.

GTR one thing I have noticed watching this WC is that countries like Australia & England (as much as I hate to say it) should be admired for not carrying on like a pork chop after copping minimal contact to the lower leg unlike some other countries you have already named!

The next match is Uruguay taking on France. Have a feeling the French will get rolled. Just hope the match does not end in another penalty shoot out.
