The swan players are Max George for the mark and Lou Milanko at the base

That pic could well have been taken in the game Max George kicked 14 goals vs WP ..still to this day is the highest amount kicked by a Swans player in a match!

I remember that day in 1974. I was just a little kid and it was at Basso. The picture shows Swans playing in white shorts, which means it was a West Perth home game at Leederville oval.
Max George was kicking goals from 50-60 meters out and they were crossing the goal line another 10 meters !.

I vaguely recall Max winning a game for Swans against West Perth at leederville one day by kicking a goal from a mile out after the siren. I think it was 1974, any other Swans supporters remember this?

Terrific game - I remember the usually reliable Steve Gillespie making an error that gave WP the lead late in the game and then Maxy's goal after the siren. One can draw many similarities with the final rounds of 1974 and 2015 - the last four or five qualifying rounds in 1974 were like mini-finals that we had to win to maintain our position in the four.

And regarding the photograph. Certainly George, but I think that's Stephen Skully in front.
