Ian Williams he was a classy goal sneak who went on to play at Footscray in the VFL ..his son Robbie wasnt a bad player either playing Colts & Ressies at Swans now is training & driving pacers as is another son of a former Swans star in Max George's son Michael.

Must have been his first year then, i can see the resemblance now

Not sure that it's Lamby but might be wrong.

Might take a punt on Ian Tucker or Gerry Cotter with that hair but just guessing now.

Gerry Cotter 100%.

Willy captain coached Swan Valley to a few flags on his return too! A bloody good footballer and a good coach by all accounts.

Not really a photograph of an individual player like the excellent ones earlier, but certainly a good panorama of the old ground on a wet and misty 2nd September 1961. Bunton is in the foreground, and Gary Gray, Bob Manning, Kenny Bagley and Tony Sangalli are visible off in the distance. No banks and the scoreboard closer to the wing are a few obvious changes from today, but Bassendean hasn't changed that much. What we forget is that until 1976 the ground was one of the worse in the league for drainage, being one of the few suburban grounds with a clay substrate (WACA the other?, with the visible puddles of water in this shot rarely encountered by today's players.

6,500 at the ground that day...no guessing where they were seated.
