2nd spot is better than 2nd last..

yeah true mate....but having 29 flags is better than 19 I guess ;) ......EF are where they are because they are shite.....what was WP excuse last year?.....anyway WP losing 2nd spot isn't a travesty......missing the finals close to the finishing line is....thus why Cl v SD takes the title of game of the year outside the finals in my eyes....but hey I get it mate for ego sake WP v SD is the game of the year then..... touch wood both sides make the GF and Subi Oval is packed to the rafters......will be travesty if only 20K turn up though.....only two teams capable of packing the place are SF and EF alas 1979....but that isn't gonna happen any time soon :(

That old 29 flag chestnut! Most of those EF flags won before WW2  pretty equal since the 50's and a whopping 15 before the Page system
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Swandog.....all I can say is that EF have made good head way on replicating that 1991 - 2009 drought of SD mate...bit of a way to go for that 1932 - 61 drought of yours to be repeated though....you must of been in shock winning in 1990 tho.....usually you boys go mental for 3 years than disappear for 20 - 30 years.......so I guess 2030 will be your next big piss up then mate......heavens knows when mine will be

The 2 sides I watched a couple of weeks ago on a free Sunday afternoon that had barely a 1000 watching the League game :S ..EF couldn't fill that bus stop outside Derelict Park these days let alone 44k Subiaco Oval!! :pinch:

Yeah you have mentioned that a few times BH here on Oz Footy and on Big Footy.....yawn yawn mate ;)

....tho first time in how many derbies that low crowd no doubt too mate?....anyway to have a derby GF one would assume both teams would have to have decent teams that were reasonably strong.. ;) ....sadly EF side isnt at present, thus the merit of your bus stop comment......however there is no way in hell a SD v WP GF would get 44K either tho......even with their huge fan base  .......an EF / SF GF would always top it anyway through greater interest......you know it which is what bugs you boys no doubt

Broad has been one of the best in both of the games V West Perth this year so he will be a big loss if he is out. How our mids go against Black, Nelson and co will be critical as will the battle between Blakely and Kuenan. Marcus Adams played well last time out so we will have to keep an eye on him. Houghton would be handy although Nuich did a good enough job last week in support of the ruckmen.
West Perth haven't been beaten at home this year so its going to take an exceptional effort to overcome them on Saturday. I'm certainly not sorry that it will be a channel 7 free zone there as we are 0-5 this year on telecast games :pinch:

You wouldn't know if there is greater interest as there has never been an SD v WP GF

All folk know Swandog is that 50 odd thousand have attended a Derby final.....a record from memory and one never to be broken most probably in the WAFL.........like I said I hope WP and SD reach the GF this year......hopefully the game is half as entertaining and attracts half as many people as that derby GF did.......some how I reckon that will be a big ask though........

Not talking about 79, talking about if SF played EF this year as compared to an SD and WP GF, who would attract more? As BH eluded to interest in SF v EF seems to have waned a little..

Any news re Broady at this stage mikeh? Arguably our most important player this year. Huge loss if out. His health and well being must be put first though despite the importance of this weeks game. Hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.
