defence held up well due to Notte and Howard holding so many marks and Cary wasnt too bad.
Harding did make some good moves at 3/4 time - Broad and Banfield swapped and Broady gave us us a spark at half forward and Ames went back to full back and Cary forward and he gave a target.
this also meant Houghton was 2nd ruck where i think he plays his best footy and can run around a bit, too slow and not strong enough to be a key target al day.
Rudy the x factor - dont drop him as with Jukes well held we needed someone to kick the freak goals and he did that.
Riggs hard at it as usual, Davis lifted when needed.
Wilson very good apart from getting caught a few times, his kicking is elite, just needs to realise you cant be laconic all the time
Turner improved as the game went on and goes in pretty hard and can run well.
Grescos needs a spell in the 2nds and Rogers got reported again so maybe a couple of changes.
that 16 from WP is dangerous every time we play them and their key forwards were a constant threat, no.8 is a bit fiery, gave Broad a decent whack in the head at one stage.

Either Faulky has the yips back in his kicking or he is colour blind as some of his passes were lace out to WP players even when they were standing on the mark!! :pinch:

Whilst no-one can question Faulkner's ability to work hard and get the ball; it is what he does with the ball after he gets it. Probably what best encapsulates his performances was when he took a mark and decided to play on his left side and was pingeed for holding the ball. If he realised that he needs to play within the confines of his skill set and then put that into practice there would be a marked improvement in his efficiency with the ball.

Our commitment is impressive and augurs well for the remainder of this season.

considering the skill level of our players, especially Faulkner and the 3 goals we gifted them from kick-outs and letting them run the ball the length of the ground it was great to win.
the margin never blew out so we were always within striking distance.
I actually didnt notice Kuenan much for a change so big Blakes did a solid job there.

I wasn't going to enter into it but after reading your summation I thought I would chip in, at the expense of even sounding like a Swans supporter. Keunen copped an injury midway through the 1st and battled on as per usual, Blakely was ok but not that good. To offset those kick ins (in which Manzone missed one of them), you had some handy free kicks in or on the 50 which were a bit bemusing and resulted in goals, including the Houghton one in which gave you the lead, when the 3rd man up cannons into the WP ruck who intern cannons into the back of the Swans ruck wouldn't you think the 3rd man up would get pinged ???. Anyway, all in all it was a good contest and maybe it was literally 1 or 2 seconds that may have saved you.

Swandog and I had our usual banter going and generally one of us goes home sooking, my turn this round !

Haha I enjoyed the last moments immensely and also enjoyed your frustration at the maggots even when the free count was 18-9 in WP favour at one stage, but we are used to that at Swans more than other clubs, it will be a lovely 7 days

Yeah Leedy I could tell that some of the West Perth players were hurting particularly in the 2nd half. They showed a fair bit of ticker I thought to hang on to their lead early in the 3rd quarter when Swans were threatening to overwhelm them. They mounted a couple of counter attacks that resulted in crucial goals. Unfortunate for young Shannon that he seemed to ping his hamstring at a critical stage in the last quarter, he is fast and could have given you a bit more run in the last 10 minutes. I reckon there is a fair bit of spirit there and WP have done very well to hang on to second spot given the horror run you guys have had with injuries.

Would be nice but unfortunately mate, Swans won't make it and WP may win one more game this year v EP if history continues to repeat and may slide into 5th on the back of 9 wins thus far.
