Nice day for the game on Monday. A bit warm even. Ugle named but Elari misses. He will be a huge loss given that West Perth have a very strong midfield. The loss of Cary will also impact on our big man options as Ricky was used as support in the ruck (and did pretty well) . Houghton will fill in at full forward.
28 players have been named including Nelson as an emergency and Ansey. Suggests a few doubts about players or maybe Harding is keeping his options open. For a start you would have to think that Ugle would be 50/50 given that he didn't finish last weeks game. Swans will definitely be underdogs in this game, but if the boys can bring a better attitude than last week, they may give the Falcons a few headaches.

The WAFL are trialling a new umpiring system for this match. They have turned backed the clock to yesteryear when the opposing captains used to make umpiring decisions. In a world first they have asked the competing teams to nominate one of their supporters to join the umpiring panel for this match. Swan Districts will be represented by Swan42. He has impeccable qualifications, extraordinary eyesight, can spot a 720 degree rotation from 80-100 metres and has an uncanny ability to see what the regular umpiring panel can't. It will be something to behold, almost unheard of, an umpire (Swan42) who does not make any mistakes!

Ah Custodian such wit. GIven your scenario I would expect the Swans' forwards combined to almost get Schloithe like figures in free kicks and to state the obvious all justified.

Gut wrenching for the boys to lose like that. They were the better team for the first three and a half quarters but games are played over four and credit to West Perth as they sensed that we were spent and clicked into gear at the right time. To be honest it was an awful game riddled with mistakes and I don't think the top teams such as Subiaco will be shivering in their boots coming up against either side. Swans are now faced with a 5 day break before they come up against the Dockers and will have to dig deep as they are now staring down the barrel at a 2- 4 start to the season.

In the time it took me to pack up my stuff to head home we booted about 5 goals to hit the front....unbelievable, Swans played well and really should have won, but congratulations to the Falcons to find something and walk away with the points.

Had a great day after lunch tinkering in the shed with the abc radio broadcast turned on in the background. Fairly close game all afternoon. Swans looked the goods, but West Perth stormed home in the latter part of the final term to snatch the narrow victory. Many thanks to abc radio for another top call.

After last week you wouldnt think our field kicking could get any worse ..well it did today ..one does wonder how the hell were we even 26 pts up in the first place with the most horrendous skill level imaginable ..looking forward to see what next weeks skill level throws up!!
