Ladies First.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Still a heap of work to do, any of these new set ups will to look smaller than the old WAFL grounds built in the 60s and 70s, with 1500 - 2000 attending, the seating will be enough for most games, most of the old infrastructure was left empty for 90% of games just don't need upkeep on places that big anymore. Looks like the Shark Pit is history.

Yeh I don't know how the Town of Vincent manages to keep up with the maintenance of the wooden seated shelter stand at the Leederville Tafe end of the ground. The costs of maintaining that must be massive. 😞

EFTC had already gone a demolished all of metal shelters that once existed behind the goals at both ends well over 10 years ago as they were full of rust and a safety risk and too costly to repair and maintain so got removed.

Yes but they were the old ones built what 50 plus years ago? Probably asbestos roof and possibly the rear wall of it. But the one at Leederville I think was built when Subi moved in and the one on the visitors side at Lathlain wasn't there long maybe only 20 years before the Eagles demolished it to make way.

Made out of galvanized steel structure, corrugated tin roof and back and sides with wooden slatted seating on terraced concrete. Not expensive or difficult to maintain. Would have a shelf life of at least 30 years.

They should also have alongside it a undercover terraced standing room area with the steel rails to lean on like old Subi Oval and think they still got that set up in The Shed at HBF PARK. Cater for a bit of everything why is that so hard? Then the rest grass and a row of seating around the boundary so the outer doesn't look so baron.

The Shelters that went around EF Oval were all corrugated iron - no asbestos.

The Shelter you are talking about at Leederville was a standard design that was also built at Lathlain and Perth Ovals in the late 60s, concrete stepped footings with wooden benches and metal roof and half covered sides.

They wont be doing that at the new concept ovals, its more about open park multi use facilties, not having something sitting there thats is empty 90% of the time.

You obviously don't have much experience with facility management running or costing, the more you build the more you have to insure and upkeep to modern safety OHs and standards and the costs these days gets higher and higher, the amount of red tape never ends. Local Gov and Clubs don't want to pay it.

Part of the new concept is EF wont even be charging for entry to games so it will be a financial tight ship.
