Being a bit tongue in cheek but it was an interesting comment in the article and beggars the question if that was a factor in the funding proposal and agreement, if it was then the question should be about rapEni's motives during the alignment debacle and if it is was not part of the funding then he (the club) should be load and vociferous in their cries of angst.

Seems that not everything blue and red is what it may first appear to be!

Leedy as I said bit tongue in cheek and you must be reading, listening is not an option unless you have a program allows that!

Simple question for those closer to the club than I am.
Has it ever been raised about West Perth being the third AFL club out of WA? And if not then why not?
Another franchise will struggle and it would make sense for a traditional club to be the third club.
Why are we not pushing this very hard?
We are going to die a slow death like all other clubs otherwise and even if the answer was no then at least you could say you gave a huge run at it.
Has this been raised at Meetings? What has been discussed and why would we not look at it?

I agree there is not enough talent to go around but that is not how the AFL thinks, if the reality is that at some point down the track WA gets a third side then the talent issue is not relevant as it will just happen.
The supporter base issue is an interesting one, how many Eagles and Dockers supporters grew up following West Perth?? is it 200, 1000, 5000, or more??? Would they return the club they followed??? Would they support both clubs?
I would think West Perth could easily get 15K members pretty quickly if it was in the AFL.
If the AFL do put a third club in WA they have to invent a club, it would make more sense to put a traditional club in.

Dead right Grassy, just as they did with the new stadium, they did not want it bigger than 60K because they want to be able to charge a premium for seats and they can't do that if there is a 70-80K stadium.
