I for one would love to see WP as the 3rd WA entity to enter the AFL much like the Port setup I assume. I just hope they will be officially recognised and known as the Garlic Munchers..it would only be fitting :P

Yeah going through Subis list I count 56 full draftees

Interesting

I may look into it further and do some Research.

As they say not everything on the internet is true.

DW I'm not sure I understand your enthusiasm especially after the wide spread vilification of EP's alignment with the Weagles as that would be the way it would work out. An afl team based at Joondy with WP as their reserves team playing in the WAFL. I expect the 6 other WAFL teams supporters may want to have a say about that.

Based on what happened at Port (also the most hated club in SA as WP is considered by some here)you would struggle for years financially and to get AFL level memberships, even after their flag Port struggled to get more than 20k at a home match and resorted to those embarrassing advertising tarpaulins to cover the vast expanse of empty seats. it's only since Koch took over the presidency that they have improved their situation off field.

Be careful what you wish for....... (I can hear Cardy & Co wimpering in the corner at the very idea of it)

You surely would not make the same mistake Port Adelaide made.
West Perth would leave the WAFL completely. They would enter the AFL.
Joondalup would start a new club called Joondalup playing out of the arena, new colours, new logo, new everything.
West Perth AFL listed players would play for that Joondalup side.
Trying to have the same club in two leagues as Port did simply does not work.

Has it ever been raised about West Perth being the third AFL club out of WA? And if not then why not?
Another franchise will struggle and it would make sense for a traditional club to be the third club.
Why are we not pushing this very hard?
We are going to die a slow death like all other clubs otherwise and even if the answer was no then at least you could say you gave a huge run at it.
Has this been raised at Meetings? What has been discussed and why would we not look at it?

Please expand on the comment "traditional club" what do you mean by that? Surely not the old delusional idea that there are only 4 traditional clubs in the WAFL and they have either East, South or West in their names.

Nothing to expand on Seagull, I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that the 8 traditional WAFL clubs would be exactly that. You have read that completely the wrong way. A Franchise or a traditional club was my point, it could be any of them. Obviously as West Perth are at Joondalup, are arguably as big a club as any in the WAFL and certainly traditionally are it would make sense to be them if that path was taken.

How can u possibly justify that comment, you are more subsidised than the now defunct car industry and whilst you have access to an enormous population based the only way u get a crowd is when the weagles play or the free tickets for the english round
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Wasn't Krakouer drafted to Richmond from South Freo Colts?

And then drafted from Swan Districts to Collingwood in 2010. That news flash may hit York in the next year or 2. :)

Wrong

1n 2010 Andrew Krakouer was prelisted by Gold Coast Suns and on the 7th October traded onto Collingwood and signed for mainly Pick 25. The draft that year was not until Nov 18. Therefore he was never officially drafted on draft day or Rookie drafted

I would assume then TF you would also not have included the likes of Brandon Matera, Jaeger O' Meara, Jack Martin et al who bypassed the draft after being prelisted by GC through trades?
On another note the actual 1st VFL draft was in 1981 not 1986, where the likes of Alan Johnson, Grant Campbell, Craig Holden, Ken Judge, Wayne Otway, Dean Turner & Ross Ditchburn were all WA boys "drafted" into the VFL and all bar Campbell played with their respective drafted Vic club.

Tongue in cheek SS....Freo looked for a historical reference point in selecting Dockers as their badge, thought it only appropriate Garlic Munchers would get a run :P If a 3rd AFL club is coming our way I'd expect Joondy to get the nod based purely on location. Soccer is big in the north end of the metro area, even WP acknowledge that with their free entry day, can't imagine the AFL will allow that to continue without some aggressive interference.

????

All I am saying is that Krakouer was never drafted by Collingwood, which you clearly stated.
He was traded onto Collingwood.

He played no part on draft day.

Sorry on my behalf for assuming drafting, rookied and or prelisted would be considered all the same.
