T.O.O,

I think we were reasonably well represented, of the 15K or so that were in attendance, 11K were Falcons fans at a minimum. The other key factors that come into play is the alignment has kept people away and that $ubi played (Salary and points shambles would have detracted people) and the WAFC have NIL creativity when it comes to entertainment, the last 2 x WP GF's I have been too were nothing short of a Sunday league effort from the WAFC to make a good day of it !!!

Don't sweat it Leedy according to Greatwhiteshark WP should sell their souls and throw themselves at the feet of the AFL jugganaut, pleading to be accepted as the 3rd WA team. That way you wont have to suffer through another Grandfinal ever again at any level of footy.

with a lot of respect but

I don't understand your comment grump, use words please?

a big club , oh come now, whistling dixie is the inference.

They get 2 big crowds a year that are WP supporters both against the WCE reserves, their only other big crowd is largely if not 99% due to free tickets. Their ground is JCC's and administered by VW, they get little or no over the counter takings, have to rely on the corrupt state government for their rooms and have the nerve to complain about handouts to PEEL.

What was a proud club is now just one like the fella that sells the big issue near where I work, relying on the generosity of the public and I know who deserves it more.

And yes I work and support for the team that aligned itself with the AFL and that hurts even more than you can realise.

SS,

This 3rd AFL team out of WP has been on the agenda for well over a decade, you blokes have short memories, it wasn't that long ago in the 90s & early 2000s that we made you blokes look 2nd rate in Finals on many occasion. The difference between our domination and yours is that ours was legit :)

HEY GRUMP at least the west perth football club tries different ways of promoting football, not like east perth who take the easy way out. BTW how is your fund raising committee going , sorry mate you don't have one do you.

Are you seriously telling me you would not want your team playing in the highest level?? I would rather pursue even the remote chance than sit on my hands and die a slow death with the rest of you. How would it be selling their soul?

West Perth would leave the WAFL completely. They would enter the AFL.
Joondalup would start a new club called Joondalup playing out of the arena, new colours, new logo, new everything.
West Perth AFL listed players would play for that Joondalup side.
Trying to have the same club in two leagues as Port did simply does not work.

So GWS what your saying is in the blink of an eye or dare I say the cashing of a cheque, your prepared to throw away 130+ years of tradition, throw away the West Perth FC name, disenfranchise most of the Munchers faithful and walk away?

I'd have to say you'd be a very lonely voice on this matter and if your not, shame on all who would think the same.

If you read my post I want the West Perth football club and their 130 years of tradition to join the AFL. Why would they throw away their name or their colours or their jumper?? I would think the faithful would be very very happy if they could join the AFL. Why would they not be happy if the remote chance actually happened? Are you telling me if your club applied for an AFL license and you got it that you would be unhappy to join the big league??

It wouldn't be your team. It would just be based at Joondalup that's all and be called west Perth Falcons possibly. They couldn't use red and blue, couldn't even use red blue and white, and the players would come from all over Australia not the west Perth zone.
And then we'd probably have to listen to the hundred plus years of tradition bullshit that Fremantle and port Adelaide try to claim also.

Of course they could use red and blue, their jumper is predominantly Red and would not clash with anyone other than the Suns. The only thing they would have to change is their song which they stole anyway.
Fremantle claim to their history is bullshit, ports is confusing because they made the mistake of trying to be in two comps.

Sad legacy if that happened.

No one loves the WAFL as much as you do Grassy but the WAFL is dying mate, there is no legacy or anything to be proud of in going down with a sinking ship.
The reality is that there is little chance of West Perth being the third team in the AFL from WA when or if that happens but I would be angry if they didn't try to be.
I love the WAFL to as you know but if the people who run the WAFL and the people who run the clubs don't want to do it properly and continue to get walked over by that AFL juggernaut you keep talking about then you have to have rocks in your head to not try and get in on it.
And how any WAFL supporter would not want their club playing in the highest level is beyond me.
