Wasn't Krakouer drafted to Richmond from South Freo Colts?

And then drafted from Swan Districts to Collingwood in 2010. That news flash may hit York in the next year or 2. :)

Wrong

1n 2010 Andrew Krakouer was prelisted by Gold Coast Suns and on the 7th October traded onto Collingwood and signed for mainly Pick 25. The draft that year was not until Nov 18. Therefore he was never officially drafted on draft day or Rookie drafted

I would assume then TF you would also not have included the likes of Brandon Matera, Jaeger O' Meara, Jack Martin et al who bypassed the draft after being prelisted by GC through trades?
On another note the actual 1st VFL draft was in 1981 not 1986, where the likes of Alan Johnson, Grant Campbell, Craig Holden, Ken Judge, Wayne Otway, Dean Turner & Ross Ditchburn were all WA boys "drafted" into the VFL and all bar Campbell played with their respective drafted Vic club.

????

All I am saying is that Krakouer was never drafted by Collingwood, which you clearly stated.
He was traded onto Collingwood.

He played no part on draft day.

Sorry on my behalf for assuming drafting, rookied and or prelisted would be considered all the same.

Apology accepted

Thanks BH

Well historically West perth have been one of the biggest clubs in the WAFL throughout its history. I have not noticed any significant change in that.
It is much harder to define now as so many people just follow the AFL now even though they say such and such is their WAFL club.
Which clubs in your view are bigger than West Perth? And based on what?

I would agree with your statement that west Perth have traditionally been one of the bigger wafl clubs over history, - what concerned me as a bystander was the lack of support they had at last years grand final.

Grand final crowds have been down no matter who seems to play. The neutrals don't go at all and all clubs genuine support has dropped. People simply don't like watching second tier sport, put any WAFL club in the AFL and their genuine support would rise significantly.

If east fremantle could field a side in the afl at the moment it could look like this.A few All Australians a Afl captain and only a few dud players.
Swans and everyone else come no way close to naming a quality side like this.

Marco Paparione Cale Hooker Garrick Ibbotson
Elliot Yeo Harry Taylor Brad shepherd
David Swallow Patrick Cripps Rhys Palmer
Sam Menegola Patrick Ryder Alex Fasolo
Jamie Cripps Josh Kennedy Mitch Clark

Aaron Sandilands Andrew Swallow (c) Chris Masten

Int Jonathan griffin Kane lucas Harrison Marsh Jonathan Marsh

T.O.O,

I think we were reasonably well represented, of the 15K or so that were in attendance, 11K were Falcons fans at a minimum. The other key factors that come into play is the alignment has kept people away and that $ubi played (Salary and points shambles would have detracted people) and the WAFC have NIL creativity when it comes to entertainment, the last 2 x WP GF's I have been too were nothing short of a Sunday league effort from the WAFC to make a good day of it !!!

Greatwhiteshark wrote: You surely would not make the same mistake Port Adelaide made.
West Perth would leave the WAFL completely. They would enter the AFL.
Joondalup would start a new club called Joondalup playing out of the arena, new colours, new logo, new everything.
West Perth AFL listed players would play for that Joondalup side.
Trying to have the same club in two leagues as Port did simply does not work.

So GWS what your saying is in the blink of an eye or dare I say the cashing of a cheque, your prepared to throw away 130+ years of tradition, throw away the West Perth FC name, disenfranchise most of the Munchers faithful and walk away?

I'd have to say you'd be a very lonely voice on this matter and if your not, shame on all who would think the same.
