For what it's worth, I'd rather not see AFL teams in the WAFL at all but, if it is going to happen, everyone would surely be better off if they didn't play WAFL finals. The competition is definitely compromised. I fully understand, though, the AFL teams want their reserve players to keep up match practise if their league team is playing finals. So why not play against a team consisting of under 23 players from teams not involved in the WAFL finals who are potential AFL draft picks. This way the AFL teams can play whoever they want and some of the elite kids who aren't playing WAFL finals get an extra chance to impress the AFL scouts. This way the WAFL finals is not compromised either. Let's face it, the AFL teams don't give a flying fig about the WAFL finals. They don't give a flying fig about the success or otherwise of EP or Peel and nor should they. They are only interested in the AFL finals. And rightly so. So keep them OUT of the WAFL finals completely.
