Brilliant win by WP under huge duress. Shows money cannot beat a "team". Anyone who can remotely debate this did not see this game. It's an argument I know I can't lose. Good luck to any fellow EP person who dares to challenge it. There couldn't be many I'd imagine.

Good luck to Subi & WP next week. It's anyone's game on the day.

Joe Morrow was outstanding, my observation on his game is based on where he took strong marks and his disposals. Keitel's game today was better and he showed some grit, remember he is a young man. I hate to say it but Adams will be picked up by a VFL club, this bloke has a football brain. Like Cardy mentioned Drew Rohdes game was bloody good and the quiet achiever Steven Browne did his job. Gee lourey, six goals from a man who had a crook ankle, fantastic and its bloody great that no AFL aligned club is in the finals.

Are you sure about that first part? Johnson looked to do his hamstring quite badly and had to be carried from the ground. Rassmussen did his ankle warming up after half time I believe. Stepped on a sprinkler box on the oval..was wearing a moon boot and had crutches later, but that's probably precautionary. I'd say Rassmussen is more likely.

Congratulation's to West Perth for playing some heart and soul footy and dominating the game after QT, a real team effort overall, I wish it were the Ducks in there but this is the next best thing being with my mate Leedy who is champing at the bit for next week! A key today was Kody Manning who seemed to instantly flick a switch from looking like a player all at sea without confidence and then after his goal from the boundary he gained confidence and was on fire after that, will be a ripper next week and hopefully West Perth bring it to you loyal Falcons!
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Hope both sides are at there best for this cut throat Prelim.Hope is also a good day for the WAFC with a big crowd and large Tv audience.I still cant pick the winning side in this matchup yet.

Played off the park it's fair to say. No dominant forward which has been the story of the season. I don't think lack of heart was the reason although it fits conveniently into the narrative. Best of luck to both teams in the GF I look forward to attending.

Big congrats to WP. Watched the game on TV and WP looked all at sea in the first qtr and for nearly half the 2nd but then they seemed to completely change, they freed up their play spread well and started to run hard which is their strength. The quick ball movement and precise kicking opened up their forward line so Rodda and Lourey ran amok. Lourey is all quality, big body, great mark and a straight kick, plus Rodda is constantly moving and presenting. Two critical match ups for Subi next week, but the key is to reduce the supply so the mids are key. Johnson dominated the hitouts but Keunan provided some good opposition and the WP mids dominated the clearances for 2 1/2 qtrs. East Eagles didn't respond well when WP really applied the pressure and the system they had in the first qtr was taken apart by a very committed team.

WP have a few walking wounded but like Subi, the boys they bring in work to the game plan. Anyone's game next week, seen 3 GF's between the teams and it's 2 to 1 WP's way so hopefully we can square that ledger in a great competitive contest with no fake clubs involved. Long range forecast is for a fine warm day around 27 deg so expect a good crowd which is always on the cards when the munchers are involved.

Mighty Lions by 13 pts.

If we were playing NRL then Adams would be rubbed out for his spear tackle on Colledge I think it was but given how weak as pi$$ the tribunal is I can guarantee that won't happen.

With a crowd of 8,500 it has been a nice cash input for the WPFC Club as well
An article on the distribution.

In part

This is the reward for hosting a preliminary final,” West Perth president Brett Raponi said.

“It is fair to say our treasurer is delighted with the outcome of September thus far.

“There are significant costs that crop up outside of budget in the course of a footy season so this windfall will certainly help ease some of those burdens.”

After deducting game expenses of about $30,000 — made up of $20,000 for player payments and $10,000 for security and running costs — the two clubs share the remaining gate receipts.

West Perth will take 70 per cent as the home team, while East Perth receive the rest.

Given that adults have to pay $25 to enter the ground, a crowd of 7000 would produce net gate revenue of about $140,000.

West Perth expect that at least 1000 Swan Districts fans will attend the colts and reserves preliminary finals.
