Disgracefull display or arrogance by WCE & EP Eagles to ask for the rules to be bent to suit their own ends. For once the WAFC stood with and for the WAFL clubs and stuck to the rule that was changed at the end of last season and should remain in place going forward, in fact it should be increased to 7 games so that it requires a 1/3 involvement in the WAFL comp before finals qualification. Both these players will be available for the Ferals should they beat WP this week.

If they don't like the WAFL rules, pull their teams out of the WAFL and organize a 4 team comp with the SA AFL reserves teams. EP should by now be debt free given most of their costs have been covered by WC and they made a tidy $300k++ profit last year so maybe they have the balls to match the dollars and become a true WAFL club once again.

Its important for West Perth that they play four solid quarters.Dont think there playing as well as they where a month ago.Its hard to make anything of the Peel match.First half was ok against Subi and that made 0/4 at Leederville..The way they play is more suited to Areana and Subi oval.East Perth have plenty to play for and the old enemy the Cardies.
Hope both sides are at there best for this cut throat Prelim.Hope is also a good day for the WAFC with a big crowd and large Tv audience.I still cant pick the winning side in this matchup yet.
WAFL FOOTY FACTS saids WP by 22 points.

I hope & prey something along these lines happen. The sooner EP can just go back to going it alone, then better. It diminishes these city derbies and we are all losing out. I loved these games and I want to love them again.

For the record I think there will be a decent crowd there, with a few neutrals barracking hard for WP Im sure. I think EP might get up, though when WP have this type of build up, they can be very hard to beat. For the sake of footy, I hope the game is a good one.

West Perth and East Perth have met just 4 times in preliminary finals; in 1935, 1966, 1968 and 2003 and its two wins each. In both of West Perth's wins in 1935 and 2003 they went on to defeat Subiaco in the grand final, whilst the Royals two wins in 1966 and 1968 were followed by grand final defeats, to Perth.

Jards,

There will be a good crowd, the original Ferals supporters are still up and about and these games still get a good following.

With Swans playing in both the Colts & Reserves Prelims that will help boost the final attendance number enormously!

This will be the game that the WAFL finals need. It is being played on a weekend that both Perth based AFL clubs are not in action, between two traditional rivals, it will be televised on sunday and the weather forecast is looking good which augers for a bumper crowd. As well as this there have been some off field words exchanged between both clubs officials relating to the eligibility issue which will just add to the spice of the game. I would be very surprised if this game didnt have some passion, fire and physical stuff in it. I hope I am wrong but the I fear that the team that wins this game will be pretty much there for the taking by a well rested Subiaco in the Grand Final.

I'm not sure I agree with you comment re Subi mike...they would have had one game in a month whereas the winner of this game would have had a training run last week against ordinary opposition..especially FART although the Tiges were a bit harder to get over, a tough hit out this week and barring injuries tomorrow, will be primed for the GF. Plus WART will get a couple who aren't qualified as the Beags are playing next weekend....so it won't be a walk in the park for Subi.

I'm sorry Growler, you are being delusionally optimistic. You are shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. East Perth will win at will. Whether they decide to win by two goals or ten, it's up to them. Be prepared to hit the gates at 3/4 time as is the usual caper up there when all is lost. Then you can hurry back to your keyboard and blame the alignment. ;)
