Southerner i would love to see Tim David selected.
he is the Suryakumar of Australia
almost impossible to bowl to when he's going
and the IPL loves him

For the many scratching their heads at these insipid decisions from Australia like opting to bat first in Indian conditions, the selection of only one specialist spinner in Indian conditions, continuing to play the hopelessly out of form Carey etc etc.
I give you 3 reasons all beginning with C-
Ceo- pom completely out of his depth running Australian Cricket!
Clown- couldnt coach my dog to his food bowl!
Cummins- great bowler, as bad a skipper as thee on the SS Minnow!

You forgot the 4th C BH....the only C out of that lot that has been the root of many an Australian side failure over the years, especially on the sub continent.

Can't play spin - irrespective of who has been the CEO, Coach and Captain.. But agree, the decision making for this WC and v India has been deplorable and hopefully heads will role, just not the three you highlighted in your post....selectors and players as well.

The Aust team just looks so stale....an ODI side looking like a test team, playing with a red ball ethos.

Is it just me or is anyone else underwhelmed by the start of this world cup?  Half empty stadiums, one sided games and very little atmosphere.  6 weeks is a ridiculous amount of time for this sort of tournament. There should be more than 1 game a day and then you would finish the preliminary matches in half that time.
Organisers are probably hoping that the India v Pakistan game this Sunday will give the tournament a bit of much needed momentum.

the big worry for the caped woke crusaders McDonald & Cummins is that just about all other countries are amassing huge totals - and some absolute floggings are imminent

Cant remember the last time in a world cup where everyone played each other. 2 divisions broken in half with the top two through to the finals.

Clearly India has a deal where they can show the games live in India on TV and thats whats driving this long tournament

after watching the first 18 overs of calamity and farcial cricket - Australia are staring at chasing 400
bowling first really needed the best bowlers on straight up to get wickets
and get your fielding spot on
3 drops already

This is actually embarrassing and cringeworthy from the Australian team. They looked completely disinterested in the field with dropped catches, numerous misfields and they allowed their opposition to get about 40 over par. Now the batsmen are struggling to get it off the square.
Afghanistan and the Netherlands may be fancying their chances when their turn comes to play what is surely the poorest Australian squad to be ever sent to a world cup

This tournament mirrors 2019 in England and Wales - each team played the other nine once for a total of 45 matches.

Hilarious stuff from the Aussies so far. Whether batting becomes easier in the 2nd innings depends on whether we are batting or not. If we are it gets more difficult, if we are not it gets easier!

Can see a few retirements coming up soon....both on and off the park. Not much to say or see here sadly.
