TBH gtr the whole squad are buffoons...WA boys in Marsh and Green in particular....followed closely by Carey and Cummins....the Aust ethos of picking their best test side for every format is an ongoing issue....times have changed....

You're in good form today Freezin, smashing those full tosses to the boundary
Seriously though I think the Aussie ODI team is a decent one in Australian conditions but the only problem is that they are not playing in Australia. Wasn't going to be rocket science that India would produce some raging turners for their games because they have 3 front line spinners in Jadeja, Kuldeep and Ashwin. What did Australia have in response?  Zampa who is just returning from an injury and Maxwell who is a batting all rounder but not a front liner. In the sheds they have Sangha who is going to be a very good player but is not ready for the world cup pressure as yet.
When Agar was ruled out surely it would have been better to select someone like Kuhnemann who bowled really well in India last year and would be more economical than Sangha. Cam Green would be much better off playing Shield cricket in preparation for the test summer. They already have the pace/all rounder slots covered with Stonis and Marsh.
I think there has been some muddled selection decisions which haven't really taken into account the conditions the team will come across
Having said that, good luck to anyone trying to beat India in this tournament.

I was gob smacked that Australia chose to bat given the history of the pitches in India skidding on and becoming easier to bat in the evening.  Like on so many occasions in India,  the batting was clueless against spin. You would think with so many of these guys having played IPL they would have worked something out by now. If they had bowled first, they may have been able to use Zampa and Maxwell in a more attacking mode.
Its only one game but with a rampant South Africa next on the schedule they will be probably be playing catch up cricket early in the tournament
we don't seem to have an aggressive approach and there isn't any unpredictability or any X-factor - maybe a call up for Tim David or even putting Maxwell up top for a mix up
Carey is out of form altogether and Inglis needs a shot now

yeah they used to do the same preparation in the West Indies - Barbados I think from memory mate
then they used to get an industrial-sized cement skimmer and polish it to a mirror shine

they looked spooked just all over the place apart from a very brief bit of bowling to start with
unfortunately the ACB won't act by preparing wildly bouncing green tops in reparte' for when India tour here mate so they just do what they like when tours are on over there
Correct me if wrong but I recall the ICC banned Barbados from doing their old methods
for mine - pitches need to have strict conditions placed upon them while preserving their natural character
pouring fuels on pitches is just rubbish , it is a form of cheating
and so is deliberately scarifying or scratching away the surface on game day
