Just over half way and already 3 out of the 4 finalists have been decided. Surely one of the most boring tournaments ever to this point.  India are taking the piss as evidenced by Kohlis contrived century in the game against Bangladesh, even the umpire went along with it by not calling an obvious wide with 2 runs to win.

The only bright spot has been the performance of Afghanistan who have achieved two great victories despite all the turmoil that is going on in their country. Hopefully we get a few more close games at the back end of this Jamboree.

27 balls to get to 50 and then a hundred in 40 balls, means he went from 50 to 100 in 13 balls. Some of those reverse hits were amazing and right out of the middle of the bat

He is a freak, when he's on he's hugely on, but very inconsistent, his previous innings was a duck.

SS he had way too many balls to bat with in the last innings and he didn't think it through. Really no matter how well your team is going you don't want Maxwell out there until the last 10 overs. They were saying last night on the coverage, in the last 4 years he has a strike rate of about 180 from overs 41 - 50.

Give him to many balls to face and he starts thinking about hitting 200 runs rather than knowing he has only say 30 - 40 balls and he needs to get 65 - 70 runs.

The way he farmed the strike last night and had a 100 run partnership with Cummins who hit 5 was very clever.

Definitely a win Aust needed to boost their net run rate. The downside to minnows playing in a comp v the more established sides....just luck of the draw which minnow you get on the day.

Maxi is an enigma, in full flight absolutely devastating, but just so inconsistent. Still think one of Smith and Labuschagne need to go for Head...though it is very sad to see what has become of Green. Batting 7, an after thought as a bowler....hardly confidence boosting stuff for the kid.  Send him home so he can play SS and find some confidence and self belief...just looks so lost.

Couple of big games coming up v Eng and NZ, win those and finals are a given....lose them both and its going to go down to the wire for that 4th spot.

How dreadful have England been in this tournament? Absolutely flogged by Sri Lanka last night to virtually put them out of the running.  They are relying on players who have been integral to their team in the past but now are just not performing. They dropped the only 2 young players they have for the Sri Lanka game which meant that every member of their team was over 30. India will probably put them out of their misery on Sunday.

Eng looked well n truly cooked last night.....though wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they find their mojo v Aust. We all know how much Bairstow, Root and Stokes enjoy  Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood's pies. Hopefully India can put Eng top 4 chances to bed before Aust and Eng meet.

I'm in India and was at the game Wednesday night sitting in the Bishan Singh Bedi stand with my $9 ticket. An unbelievable experience watching cricket in India. The noise, the constant harassment from the locals wanting to know where you are from and to talk cricket non-stop. Must have posed for 100 selfies, blokes even bringing their wives and mothers down from the stands to get a snap with the foreigner. Words can't describe it. I left absolutely exhausted. Was in Lucknow last Saturday and even though much smaller crowd same level of intensity and "harassment". Had a ball. Funny, funny times.

Seen a few western journos suggesting the WC has been a flop and the locals not interested. Bullshit. It's been magnificent and the whole joint is alight with excitement about anything to do with cricket. Every advert on TV, every billboard around the cities, all about the WC. Yes, ticketing is a nightmare and a pain in the arse often requiring you to pick up your ticket from a venue away from the ground, sometimes even after the match has started, and lots of the high end ticket options sold out only to find at the ground those areas virtually deserted but the locals are at the games in huge numbers, plenty of expats, even clueless Clog Clots. It has been a blast.
