Bombshell news this just broke on the AFL app. Willie Rioli suspended indefinitely for using a prohibited method to provide a sample. Oh boy that throws the Eagles finals chances into disarray. What a shame he’s such a likeable character and a joy to watch. Apparently provided a substitute urine sample. Silly silly boy.

I just saw that DD...a bloody surprise that's for sure. It will most likely impact on the whole playing group and won't do their preparation for tomorrow night the world of good.

I agree BC, players usually get around each other when a player goes down with injury like the Eagles did so well last year but this could have a negative impact on the group. In saying that they’ve got plenty of depth in the small forward dept.

I love the timing with this, is it the AFL making sure we have a VFL grand final? I have my suspicions with this organization..

yes...apparently suspicions were aroused when they tested his urine and found he was 4 months pregnant.

Barra just said on 94.5fm they will assume he had something to hide and they will throw the book at him. Maximum penalty is 4 years.

These circumstances usually do result in the maximum penalty - for the simple fact that you have obviously substituted the the sample means you obviously have tried to cover something up.

He surely took the piss out a quiet week.

Fellas they are alleged offences at the moment and he is stood down pending the outcome of investigations which may take months so no chance of playing again this season. That being said i cant remember the last time if there ever was a time when an ASADA allegation didn't result in a guilty verdict.

So what happened to the 2 or 3 strikes policy that got a few Collingwood and Hawks players off the hook, allegedly 1 Hawks player who currently plays and resides in Sydney.
