Here's the list but the articles themselves are pay walled.

PART ONE: What does the comp stand for?
PART TWO: The Finances
PART THREE: Competitive Balance
PART FOUR: Facilities
PART FIVE: Attendances

Part 3 - What balance?
Part 4 - Relics of the past with 1 or 2 exceptions

That pretty much sums it up Baz. Part 1 was about the comp's identity..is it an elite state based league or an incubator for the AFL? I think it's a good question as we're getting nothing in terms of direction from the WAFC. Part 2 was about finances and how clubs struggle to get sponsors and regular revenue streams. Part 3 addressed Subi's dominance and he said it shouldn't be about dragging Subi down, rather giving the other clubs the tools to get better. Part 4 suggested some clubs are doing it well whilst others are pretty poor. Part 5 touched on dropping attendances and that something needs to be done to get people back to the WAFL....so your were pretty close.

Yep the identity has been lost, and if you don't know what you are yourself how can you expect anyone else, its lost its mantle as an elite comp in the eyes of the public and that's what counts.

The only regular stream clubs count on now are AFL hand outs, everything else is dwindling.

Getting clubs up to scratch sounds great and pretty easy, but we have clubs that haven't played in Grand Finals for decades, and in Perths case that was before Subis dominance, bottom line unless the WAFC or some other benefactor was to dump $4 Million is cash into every other clubs accounts its never going to happen. See point 1 about getting backto an elite comp because that would get that status back as well. But of course its fantasy.

Claremont have done it well. its a blueprint for what other clubs should do facility wise.

Crowds - get some big player names in the game with some cashed up clubs, improve facilities, re think the schedule and it might happen.

WAFL isn't the only lower tear comp struggling for crowds.

A League home and away attendances have collapsed and their TV ratings are falling like a stone.

Rugby Union is in all sorts of strife, and it sounds like Foxtel will drop it.

Big Bash has gone from the next big thing to empty seats in a few years.

There are a few factors at play here, I reckon A league is struggling due to people having far greater access to high quality International Football via live streaming..

Union was coming off a lowish base anyway but the political issues have killed it, and it just cant crack it against League and AFL.

How about we start with just making WAFL games more attractive to watch for a start with more scoring and less defensive minded coaching.
Many of us who grew up watching footy from the late 1970s to the 90s often hark back and pine for the style of footy from those days which was fast flowing, skilful, attacking minded with many goals the priority and was actually attractive to watch rather than the boring, defensive minded, congestion style of this last decade which to be brutally honest even as a WAFL lover has had me rethinking and questioning whether I really enjoy watching the game anymore!

I remember those big scoring games of the early 80s.

There were a lot more exciting skilled players going around WAFL back then never mind the style, guys miss set shots 30 meters out now.

yeh - and how about we actually get some resources into the comp , it's being annually plundered of it's talent and now the sponsorship $$$ & coverage
It has got to be kept alive and the WAFC know that full well - it took a large government bailout and their very own formation to have that Vicco crap kept alive after the Indian Pacific debacle
That is taxpayer coin that bought licences
some of these WAFC salaries are close or more to what clubs get
