Stand the Test wrote: Peel have restrictions, you seem worried about them going deep into September. That will happen very rarely, they are a bad franchise. They are allowed 12 otherwise with other qualifications required. That is s non issue, so please don’t try and hang your hat on that one.

Wce will be about as good as Adelaide ie not very.

Ok it suits subi supporters not to take the conversation seriously. Fine, by all means go back to reading how good della is and how easy it is to win every game and we’ll have some sort of debate over here.

STT you really need to check your facts before posting, Adelaide reserves are 1 game clear on top of the SANFL and Port maggies are 4th, so given WCER beat Souths reasonably comfortably last week, it is not beyond possibilities that they can make the finals, same for Peel and with both teams AFL teams likely to play finals, who knows how many fulltime pro's will suit up for them.

I have stressed the importance of trying to raise the draft age as that will see the teams with stronger zones come to fore. In the past I had also hoped that there would be natural 'equalisation' as the AFL players returned to their local clubs to end their playing days. It is not happening enough -- Darren Glass, johnson at Perth, Priddis at Subi, and there would be many others. I am unsure how to fix this problem.

Most clubs pay what they can afford.
The Salary Cap is irrelevant.
If you don't cheat, you can't win a premiership.

The salary cap is not relevant to the clubs with money. Ark the point system cap would have to be lowered to take effect. Too low and the teams like Claremont with great zones would be omnipresent.

BC wrote: We've had 8 pages of drivel on this subject and achieved exactly what? It's being driven by your pathological hatred of all things Subiaco and because they are an easy target. You're pointing the finger at the wrong organisation...my club, it's administrators, members, supporters and players don't make the rules or drive the competition...the WAFC does, so why don't you have a crack at them instead of your ridiculous campaign against Subiaco posters on here? Myself, Bensti when he was on here, SS and others are all in agreement that the current dominance is not ideal. We understand that if Peel had not parachuted in 8 AFL players into the 2016 GF and a few less in 2017 then Subi would in all likelihood won 4 flags in a row. That's not healthy for any comp....we all get that so why this rubbish? I've also come up with strategies in the past including not being able to recruit players from clubs that finish lower the year before and that includes returning AFL guys...we can see that something needs to be done but it's not up to my club to do it or its supporters...it's up to the WAFC.

Right, not content to shut down the comp, now you want to shut down the debate about the comp. Gotcha.

There is a subi thread on this site mate, by all means go back to it if there is too myuch 'drivel' on this one.

But before you go consider this - what if a few Subi supporters said to the WAFC there is a problem. They don't listen to us so might be worth a try??

Beasley Hutton wrote: AR yes as I continually state from the introduction of zoning in 1969/70 up until the end of the Eagles first season (1987) every WAFL club had won at least 2 Premierships and played in at least another GF outside of the flags and on the other hand all bar EF (who did finish 7th a couple of times) claimed the wooden spoon in that same 18 year time period which to me showed it had the desired effect of finally evening up the WAFL.
And then the drongos at the WAFC made moronic decision after decision and we come to the WAFL we have today on life support along with most of the clubs in it!

BH summed up the situation very nicely in the early stages of this conversation but you continue your attack on my club when clearly it's the WAFC's doing. The dominance of Subi is the result of poor decisions made by the regulator not the cause of the problem.

I tend to agree with BC on this, it's not subi's fault it's the fault of the WAFC to come up with a equalization policy, clearly the points system is not working as most clubs cannot afford to even use up all the points allowed, so they need to put other policies in place that will work.

I know I know I know - what I have been saying all along is that it high time Subi and its supporters joined the chorus instead of fiddling while Rome burns. Does anyone get this? I am saying that while you could say what you liked for a while that if there is a team who has won 75% of games since 2000 who have taken it to 85%+ over last 5 years and then up to 95% over last 18 months then it is time for EVERYONE to stand up for the comp.

Does no-one get that? It is well beyond arguing your corner.

Instead, despite me not personally abusing anyone, I get told I am writing drivel, I am a troll, I am an embarrassment, questions over my mental health - really nasty stuff. I get moved over here and then chased and hounded by Subi mob all for saying please help to SAVE OUR COMP and MAKE IT INTERESTING AGAIN.
