I dont see anything wrong with a re-vamped colts comp if it retains players normally lost. Being independent to the WAFL clubs would be a changer.

I am not sure how old you are; but it is PATENTLY OBVIOUS that you have absolutely no affinity with the WAFL competition and its history. If what is mooted to happen then the incoming Labor Government should summarily sack the entire WAFC and replace them with commissioners whose primarily responsibility is to ensure the viability of the WAFL competition.

What possible advantages could there be to removing the colts' competition from the WAFL competition?

The WAFC keeps the footy public blinkered but Hagdorn knows what is happening. Go figure Time for the Government to dissolve the WAFC and start again. Muckhenry and Taylor must go

Okay BC how well do you think the WAFC is going in maintaining the viability of the WAFL clubs and competition?

Do i support a revamped colt comps? Yes
Do i think that should involve removing it from the WAFL clubs? No, but would shake it up.

Ive been away for a few years but back when i was involved, the development pathway from juniors to your district colts was a mess. My personal experience with EP back in the day, they had hard time getting the kids to go through the entire junior pathway then make the step up to colts. Many promising prospects just fade away.

From what i can see of recent times, its getting worse. How long will WA footy survive at the elite level when they have no more kids coming through? Maybe a radical change is needed?

I will preempt Grassy and say it is all part of the AFL master plan to gut the WAFL and to have an Under 18 competition in WA. Let's face it the AFL have destroyed the VFA and the Tasmanian competitions. Now they are going to do the same to the WAFL. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

Changing the current colts model and removing their affiliation with the WAFL clubs is 2 separate proposals.
