Probably want to question your Board and CEO about why the Bassendean development hasn't moved forward. My guess would be that the Town of Bassendean don't see it as a priority or don't have the funding available to then approach the State Government for extra funding. If the local council isn't onboard with the project you'll see nothing from the Dept. Of Sport and Recreation.

Absolutely BRILLIANT article by Duffield and LONG overdue, this mob has had a free ride since 1989, and are probably the biggest financial parasites on the States TAXPAYERS around. Only thing he misses are just how much these scam artists have stashed away on the back of Taxpayers.

local council is on-board, state govt is still somewhat on-board, club is on-board.
local council needs to provide more options for development for town as a whole near train station.
money tight coming up to an election and moving target from govt on priorities.

Why do "Peel and EP" have Colts sides in the WAFL?
Adelaide & Port do not have Colts or Reserves in the SANFL.
There is your answer to the Colts shake up right there!

Agree bazza spot on, time the 2 super wealthy afl clubs put more into the states grass roots footy rather than their ever increasing bank accounts and investment portfolios. The comment about 20k extra seats, extra corporate boxes means the clubs will make millions more on season tickets and corporate hospitality. talk about cake and eat it!!

Ok then who payed for all the Subi oval redevelopments then??? Tax payers! So you are wrong

So the redevelopment was just for the Subiaco FC? But we have no members and no supporters according to the great black and white unwashed, yet multiple millions were spent to bring the capacity up to 42500 seats just for the SFC? Really your comment makes no sense at all and that's saying something given some of your previous rants about Subi. Take a second and just consider for a moment that maybe ... just maybe the development of Subi oval could have been for the introduction of the extended VFL and later the AFL comp. What a shame the WAFL/C decided so many years ago that Subiaco oval would be the league headquarters when we all know it should have been out on the hallowed turf/mud of Bogundean oval.

Ok then so none of the 42,500 ppl use the $ubi bar during AFL games and ALL other events there then?? Not to mention seats allocated so $ubi can sell packages etc

.....as if the SDFC or any other WAFL club / fan in the same position wouldnt do the same thing and think nothing of it....What most WAFL folfk want to know is how in fark did Cl, SD and WP get 29 million and the other three just as needy G6 clubs, got nothing?.....would of thought with that vast SD fan base and ever popular Steel Blue drinking hole known as the "can shed", the SDFC could of had a whip round and raised that sum alone and more themselves after one home game ;)
