Subi have unlimited money boofhead? they made a profit of $58k last year...hardly unlimited...and if you have evidence of ressies getting $400 a game then I'd like to see it otherwise keep your unsubstantiated accusations to yourself.

It is the WAFL clubs who voted to put a side in the VFL in 1986. Some of them took a cheque to vote for it.
It is the WAFL clubs who accept everything the WAFC do, they accept it because they get money to accept it.
We never see the WAFL clubs stand up as a collective group because to many of them are easily paid off.
Clearly the WAFL clubs cannot survive without the handouts, if they could maybe they would act.
I don't know what the answers are but I do know this, the AFL clubs in WA will not be entering their seconds side in the VFL ever.
The AFL clubs will over time negotiate lower royalty's to the WAFC which in time will be less money for WAFL clubs.
The WAFC will act in the best interest of their cash cows not the WAFL. Whinge or you like that it is right or wrong but at some point reality must sink in.
The thing that disappoints me is that the WAFL clubs know that relying on funding long term will kill them off, yet they sit there and accept everything instead as others have said make some changes and have a crack at another model.

SPOT ON, and the WAFL could learn a shitload from the Big Bash on how to go about things, fair dinkum that concept is dragging them in with records numbers, who would of ever thought, its leaving mainstream cricket in its wake, and most importantly it appeals to the kids and families. there's a future out there for WAFL and it could be great , but the "back in the old days" crew are holding it back.

Is this the guy who went from B Grade ammos to play in SWFL but Subi offered more for him to play in their Reserves?

there are several players, who have committed to leaving subi, but they throw money at them to stay there. Subiaco got the deal of a lifetime when they left subiaco oval, which brings so much profit to there club. subi sports bar, seats, functions e.t.c. will be interesting to see how they fare at the new stadium where all clubs will be on an even playing field.

Wes will probably go back to how we were for the majority of the previous century boothead, so that should make you happy. At least we will have a social bar and club this time though

Okay let's hear your blueprint for the WAFL competition and clubs.

A good start would be lifting the draft age to 19 or even 20. Blokes finish playing colts and state 18s and then play WAFL, sanfl, vfl, neafl... This would be a big boost for the second tier of footy because it would create interest and give a lot more people reasons to follow it, and would take a lot of the guesswork and risk out of afl recruiting therefore aiding the afl's equalisation designs. I don't see any losers in this idea.
The cynic in me would suggest that the afl doesn't want to give the second tier of footy a boost because they see it as a competitor for their customer base.

Good point you make mate and agree. Dont know about the ressies getting 400 a game you obviously have a source on that. Considering the money machine they have from the bar at all AFL GAMES and the finals that from what I have seen is always packed plus the rooms and 500 free tickets to every AFL game given to them as "Comphensation" from the WAFC that is stacked in their favour cannot explain their small profit? Something smells.
I think they are a bigger pack of colluding bastards and have more to explain than the Aligned clubs. The Subiaco club stinks. Having said that I am not putting the shit on the players or the supporters as it is beyond their control.
I was actually surprised when Peel beat them in the GF and happy to boot because of these reasons. Wolfs in sheeps clothing mate and nothing more.
The main reason I have stopped supporting WAFL. OK the alignment was another in the early days but as it has panned out EP and PEEL are the real losers. WP beat EP and so on.
In some ways if the AFL club is in the finals it is to the advantage of the WAFL club but then again is that a good thing?
The WAFL is not played on a level playing field and winning a GF really means nothing now as so many factors come into force rather than 9 teams who play out a season and the BEST MAN WINS.

Some of us have been quite vocal on here about that mob not only in their "riches" but their continual plundering of out of zone talent at the expense of their local zone development!

Have one of the strongest junior areas, beside West Perth and struggle to use it to their advantage.
