Could be at Freo I guess but that's Freo's home training ground, if it was to be re-located it should be at Leederville given Subi finished on top and has had limited use since since EP league finished and 1 game by Subi in 5 weeks so the surface has improve significantly, next best would have been Lathlain but that's now being ripped up. Could be at Basso if the surface was up to Peelmantles lofty standards. The Am's final was there last week and the ABC commentators said the surface was not the best.

It's something that's foreign to your club isn't it? Suddenly going into a GF as underdogs despite being the best side in the comp all year and playing on a ground that is more familiar to the Peel/Fremantle players than Subiaco players.

But playing the GF at Subiaco Oval up until now was never a problem was it? But suddenly the other team might have an advantage so now you want it shifted. As Ma Sheila famously once said "Tough Titties".

why wouldn't it be Leederville?...we finished on top and won the second semi. the only reason its played now at Subi is because there's nowhere else which could hold the large crowds of yesteryear. if those crowds are no longer an issue play at the home ground of the highest qualifying team.

Hahahaha up until you departed Subiaco Oval wasn't that the same advantage you had whenever you were in a grand final? Funny as fuck now the shoe is on the other foot.

Since when has grand finals been played at the home ground of the team that finished on top? Those rules apply in all other finals of which you have already had your advantage. I guess when you are raised as a privileged child you are always going to expect it. Lol

Even in ammo's grand finals are played at neutral venues.

so that means we had a decided advantage in 1924, 73, 86 and 88? given we moved in 2004, it doesn't seem like much of an advantage when you only win 4 flags in 80 years.

in the next millennia if Perth finish on top and win the second semi they too would have home ground advantage...but that's a big if...

BC -- to be honest, I think all finals should be played at neutral grounds. Looking back, it was pity the league never set up at Inglewood, as they were apparentlly planning to do for a long time.

I can't see any reason why AR other than the top qualifiers home ground can't accommodate the anticipated crowd numbers....other than that why shouldn't the home ground team enjoy bar takings etc if they've done enough during the year to finish as top qualifier of the GF. if it's good enough for the other finals then it should be likewise for the GF if the ground can accommodate it.
