Warsaw didn't quite have the wow factor but that's understandable given 90% of it was destroyed during the war...but still worth seeing. If you're stuck for stuff in Warsaw you can also jump on a public bus and head down to Wilanow Palace which is also really good and free entry on Monday's.

Yep, I will be having a good look around Krakow, my next door neighbour is a Pole and raves about it, Auschwitz is a must and Oskars factory is on the list as well, the architecture is an attraction in itself.

Thanks for the tips will try and get the salt mines in.

Your right about Warsaw , it was wiped out, which is why I have made it basically a passing through visit there.

I went to Prague a few years back and it gave me taste for Eastern Europe, Budapest should be good, I already have my Parliament House tour tickets! I'm checking out Bratislava well. Then Nuremburg I've always been interested in the Nazi War Trials and the Rally Grounds so there is plenty to see there.

Before all that we are doing a pit stop tour of England so the Missus can catch up with friends and relatives and then a week in the Bordeaux wine region of France, plus up to Flanders and the Somme for the Aussie centenary of the western front. Grand father served there and have a Great uncle buried there.

its going to be busy!

Welcome back Bazza. Sorry to butt in on your chat with BC, but Baz you must visit Birkenau and Aushwitz. I think it's very important that people keep going there to see what butchery we humans are capable of. A very moving experience. Krakow itself is one of my favourite places - a meal and few beers in the square will chill you out and you won't abuse any of the bombo valley boys again....well not as much!

Totally agree with the above.

Krakow is a beautiful place and I was told by the Polish taxi driver there that this was mainly due to the city being largely untouched during the war, and as such a lot of the old original buildings still remain.

Shark, you are right, I did the Birkenau and Auschwitz tours and it is a very sombre experience. Especially when you look at all the pictures of the prisoners that didn't survive that they have up in some of the old cell blocks. Hard to believe this sort of thing could happen.

The salt mine is extraordinary also. Especially the chapel they have. It easy to forget that you are so far underground! Quite freaky really.

that's easy for you to say falcon...your mob of stagers receive on average 5 more frees than you give away per game. if you listen to my very good friend 42 on the trials and tribulations of the bogans in relation to the umps this year, that's the difference between winning and losing. :-)

Mate we are like Hawthorn, most of our frees are from being tackled without the ball, you need great skill for this, keeping the ball in front of you without taking possession and getting tackled by the knob behind you....Free Kick!

Anyway what have you got to complain about, sitting on top of the ladder and winning the last two premierships is not enough for you. :woohoo:

I'm not sure if those serial duckers Hams and Schloithe are playing for Souths this week..if they are it will be interesting to see how the umps interpret it given the unfortunate accident to Beau Chatley. You would think they will be a bit gun shy and penalise anything remotely high although conversely it might also mean those two will think twice about bending the knees and ducking the head on the slightest bit of impact.
