anyone know the average if you take out the highest and lowest gate of each club, that then discounts the novelty days.

Oh well I the year wrong so what, the fact is overall things were on the up in a number of ways and then they started talking alignments etc

Mate , I am not sure what way they teach maths out Midland way but if you look at 2009 onwards they are only heading one way - down and that was before talk of alingment. 2009 - 2304 down to 2018 in 2013 - Yep once the alingment came in it speeded things up with 2014 continuing that trend with a big drop.

But to say things were on the way up attendances wise is patently wrong.

Carefull LB you might disturb the fanatical backslapping circle jerk that's going on in the Swans thread!! Plus they will quickly point out it's the swans travelling supporters that flood other teams home games that create those numbers.

That 'Circle Jerk' as you call it SS was actually triggered by an ABC commentator who is actually a Claremont supporter who stated that his trip to Bassendean Oval was the highlight of his sports broadcasting career. Hardly a biased backslapper now eh? You can hide behind numbers all you want but you can't quantify passion and that's what Swans fans have in bucket loads.

Every club has passion , SDFC certainly dont have a mortgage on that, one club that amazes me is Perth 30 odd years of failure yet they have the busiest thread on this board.

I beg to differ. I doubt if you would have seen scenes anything like what happened at Bassendean on Saturday at any other WAFL ground, with the possible exception of West Perth.

Take out that Foundation Day game (that Swans never get to play on bar one year when over 10k attended) that significantly boosts EF, SF & WART numbers and they would be down with likes of $ubi & Claremont for pitiful attendances!

I look forward to the day I hear more than just a couple of gopher horns beeping at a $ubi game when you kick a goal ...in fact a morgue would have more life than a $ubi game!!

remind me to raise at this years AGM that Subi needs to recruit a gaggle of goateed, toothless abusive pissheads so we can be known as "passionate" supporters.
