I am just SO done and dusted not only with the AFL, but with Nathan Buckley in particular.

BUCKLEY wants to introduce a MID-year draft on WAFL sides to bolster AFL teams that have injury problems. Of course this won't affect the Eagles PUPPETS or the Mandurah DORKERS, thereby FURTHER weakening the other seven sides in the competition over here.
Page four of today's Pre-game lift-out in the West Australian.

This CONSTANT RAPE & PILLAGE of the WAFL by the AFL has got to be STOPPED.

Before you support this move, consider this scenario.

Your team, regardless of who they are, are sitting on top of the ladder, your ruckman and full forward are both putting in amazing seasons almost winning games between the two of them and then they get drafted mid-season. Your team then misses the finals, finishing the season in fifth, because there are not two players in the club to replace them. As part of the team, how do you feel?

I know I would be pretty devastated about missing the chance to play in the finals, let alone the possibility of being part of a Premiership side.

Yes very true CF. Have been saying the same for the past 400 years but unfortunate to say it's been allowed to happen previously, still happens and more likely to keep on doing so. :(
Of course it's not beneficial to the Wafl. A better than average player or two may be the glue that gels a team together. Take them away and it could easily upset the balance of a side. When a teams performance starts slipping, it affects attendance figures at the grounds too. And quality players can't be replaced with a tap of a the magic wand. It takes time for replacements to fit in to a team structure.

If they want a mid-year rape and pillage let it be confined solely to the players currently in the AFL and any player external to the AFL system should be considered persona non grata.

No difference to WAFL clubs poaching talent from their metro and country zones mid year to fill holes in their reserves teams.

This is not a reason for it to happen but the EPL, NBA, MBL and a lot of other sports around the world have mid year windows for clubs to bolster their lists.

The idea of a club being able to go to another AFL club has a an appeal but that would be the extent of it. The other thing would be that it would be a LOAN not a transfer so the gaining club takes on the payment salry cap issues and an compensation for injury.

It would cause some angst amongst the group as would you want to be the player who misses out because Josh Kennedy comes in to play CHF as an on loan player.

As for FIGJAM it is so he doesn't look like a sub par coach and thinks that this would save him, he fails to understand that being a crap coach would still be the same no matter how many players he brought in!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Accepting your premise that WAFL clubs do it to fill holes in their reserves team; how is it the same as taken potential your best player from a WAFL league club and its impact on their chances in the second half of the year and/or finals?

You would be better off asking that question to 'Ron' & 'Bruce' 42 not to their stool pigeon Barney!!

So you wouldn't be happy if say a Connor Blakely was selected to play AFL after a great WAFL half year?
