Who knows what the future holds, the problem is this country has no interest in second tier sports anymore due to media saturation and obsession with the first tier, look at shield cricket it's as dead as a dog turd.

TOO I understand your standpoint; my comments were directly primarily at the orth of Ahern's proposal, rather than whether he is supportive of the WAFL competition or not.
Perhaps it indicates that some of the members of the WAFC should come on to a forum like this or even better come down to some of the WAFL games and speak to the supporters of the WAFL to gauge the feelings of the WAFL supporters.

Rest assured if the club formerly known as East Perth win the GF the aftermath will not make for some plesant viewing in terms of the reception the players get in the post match presentation.

I agree Swan, the fall out of a EP win on GF day could be a bit ugly, I expect a pretty ordinary crowd there for a start, but to be honest few would hang around for the presentation to EP bar their hard core fans, most will snub a faux flag.

That is fair enough as long as it doesn't turn into physical threats and intimidating supporters like last Saturday.

If its Subi v EP , I honestly cant see the Rokeby Road set ( all 7 of them) threatening or imtimidating to many.

Certainly I was not suggesting nor advocating any violence. It was more in the form of the reception to the players receiving their medallions to be met with little or no applause and more likely a considerable amount of booing directed at the WAFC officials present on the dais.

Couple of incidents one in which I was intimidated by another supporter possibly from this forum. But I'm in my seventies now so a strong wind would be enough to sort me out. Not sure booing players for playing a game is fair but perhaps very Western Australian. I think the WAFC, the EP board and the council of WAFL presidents are the ones that are responsible.
