Woke up this morning with this thought,a match made in heaven. Dean Cox coaching at EP in 2 years time. Considering all the talls down there struggling to perform up the grade makes sense.

DW -- I agree with you on Subiaco and Claremont; in regards to Perth and Swan Districts, I think you will find the Commision might try the old money trick. We will help with your debt if you merge, which they have tried over the last couple of decades. I have even heard Haydn Bunton talk about this merger, unsure if he goes down to Bassendean too often these days.

It so wrong and I hope both clubs well tell them to get knotted

Cardy -- Your right about the EP board, I was just writing in the abstract. On the WP front, is Billy in danger?

To add to BH's comment - one of whom made his league debut even though he is eligible to play colts in 2014.

Let there be no doubt there will NEVER be a merger between Swans and Perth. No Swans' supporter will accept it and I suspect the same would apply to Perth. Further if the WAFC tried to force a merge of the aforenamed clubs they will be in for one hell of a fight and a fight whcih rest assured would make a Pyrrhic victory something to be desired.

BH that is good to hear about his grandsons; it was many years ago that Bunton made the comment, just to clarify things

swan 42 -- it is good to know; I sure, as you say, the PFC would feel the same -- after all, it all about a love for one's club, defending its past, present and future

Are you going to get second spot from Subi?

A/r will be prettu difficult to get there - we each play the club formerly known as East Perth. What will be of interest is how many of the Eagles will be put out to pasture in the ensuing weeks and how that will impact on their reserves' team.

Looking forward to the game in Bunbury.

Foreget merger talk, based on what Raponi has said in todays Sunday Times, WAFL could be in serious trouble. I am not sure if the government is at fault or the WAFC just have no idea how to broker a deal. One wonders why Cooper cannt make the statement. He is the top dog. Seems only Raponi is the only administrator prepared to put his booloack on the line for the AFL

Make no mistake, AFLWA is on the way...it's what this commission is working towards and is an absolute disgrace that a WA govt committee is responsible for allowing the decay and destroying a WA institution like the WAFL....they are prepared to kill our history and I hold the Eagles 100% responsible because they do nothing to stop it whilst purporting to be the face of WA football...a bunch of pricks thru to the bone and will deserve everything that comes their way in the long run

It is hardly ground breaking news. WAFL Presidents like Randall, Raitt and Howson have been talking about the lost revenue football in WA would lose if a new stadium is built for 5+ years. It won't be helped by the AFL equalisation policy taking profits from WCE and the Dockers.
