Must add I've recently been hearing some serious & strong allegations from life long friends I'll trust til my days are done with regards to a band of ex-eagle players about their nocturnal habits which rival & mirror Ben's problems of recent years. Seems the brat pack are alive and still well at it. Their lives, their choices and their business tbh, they can do as they please as far as I'm concerned as long as they don't effect the lives of others with their behaviour which is a complete furfy in itself with the substances I've been told are involved, but if these same habits existed back in 2006, which is highly likely considering they are all mates one seriously has to question the legitimacy of that premiership. Sad to hear and just another inditement on this footy club in addition to the flagrant disrespect they show the WAFL. We all have heard the hearsay of the past few years, with Ben taking most of the heat but if this stuff becomes public there will be a lot more red faces than not amongst the Eagles fraternity. I will leave it at that as I know this is a touchy area hence the reasons I use the word 'allegations' and refuse to name the players. Assume it won't be long before this all goes public anyhow unless of course the media along with the footy commission are full of Eagles 'Plants' .....surely not??? right????

It is hardly ground breaking news. WAFL Presidents like Randall, Raitt and Howson have been talking about the lost revenue football in WA would lose if a new stadium is built for 5+ years. It won't be helped by the AFL equalisation policy taking profits from WCE and the Dockers.

Barney if it is a profit based equalisation policy the WAFC should simply increase the amount charged by the two WA domiciled AFL teams for the prostitution of the WAFL competiton vis a vis the host club alignment.

Agree hell raiser with what u've said..and also acknowledge it's a society problem not just a football issue. If I was to name and shame on this forum I'd be in a courthouse in a heart beat and so would my mates. I'm not that silly. I'm makin a point more about the tainted premiership which IMO is a lot more tainted than just by the actions of Ben. He's been a scapegoat in a way for the culture at the club during that period. And yes I am an Essendon supporter who is still waiting for the truth to be told re our club's issues....hopefully the courts will solve many questions I'm still awaiting answers for. The major difference to me at this stage without knowing all the facts is the Eagles actually won something whilst my mob have imploded. My big beef with the Eagles exists because they too are doing "whatever it takes" to succeed by destroying the WAFL and its magnificent history in the process like a spoilt little rich kid who has forgotten his/her roots. They would not exist without the WAFL, period! And like you say, yes this is a forum where we can express our opinions, air what we've heard and discuss them with others as long as we don't defame people or organisations unjustly.

I think Essendon are a scapegoat. most clubs would be guilty in some form recently. but to have a go at west coast for a tainted flag. mmmm I lived in Melbourne wen Collingwood won the flag in 1990. u talk about the eagles and wat people say ??? we used to get around the inner city in those days like u said - cant say too much. guess i'll leave it at that
