Secondly, I simply do not agree with you that thousands flooding back to watch the two aligned clubs ( which is not happening) would not be seen as a strong endorsement for the host club deal..perhaps you could try to understand that.

Nor do I think poor performing AFL clubs would mean they would change the plan, they would just become more ravernous on the wafl, on the flip side however, If anything at all poor performance of the two AFL clubs is a bonus for the WAFL, as people drift back and crowds pick up , as has happened in the past.

Who said anything about crowds flocking back to watch the two aligned clubs?

I'm talking about people watching the seven G7 clubs who desperately need support not constant bagging.

And we'll have to agree to disagree on the other point about performance. It's fairly obvious that the two AFL clubs will either go back to the old system or go it alone if they don't get results at AFL level.

I'd prefer the former because I don't like watching Subiaco products in opposition colours.

Either way, saying the WAFL isn't any good constantly isn't going to change their minds.

If you really hate the WAFL that much. Don't go. Leave the rest of us to try and get some change.

Bazza - our home average is higher and to average over 2k away is a good effort for a club that doesnt play on the public holiday Mondays when crowd numbers get inflated.
and that is not to bag Subi as they are a club that is usually pretty consistent with crowd numbers, I am sure Perth supporters were happy with their crowd numbers when Swans travelled there.

MO you dont have to be a Rhodes Scholar to work out there are a helluva lot of anomalies in the attendance figures for certain clubs (SF, EF, EP, WP) compared to both Swans & Perth who never get games on the stand alone Public Holidays like Foundation Day & Good Friday where there are no AFL games to compete against on those days!
The one year I remember Swans did play a game on Foundation Day in the early 90's vs EP we drew around 10k but I heard from a good source at the time that the 2 Freo clubs got in the ear of the WAFC to put an end to that as they felt we were a serious threat to "their day"!

As a rule of thumb a good indicator of the mix of supporters at the game is the size of the huddle around the two teams at quarter and three-quarter time. Given the article about Peel's increased attendances due to the alignment, as mentioned in a media article earlier in the week, it will be interesting to see what sort of crowd we get at Rushton Park on Saturday.

Also, speaking of country fixtures: on the 9th August we will playing the club formerly known as East Perth in Bunbury.

I'm not going to do the table anymore. People criticize when it goes up, criticize when it goes down. It becomes tiresome.

But the attendances are published on the WAFL results page ver aqui www.wafl.com.au/games

Good excuse for me to add an attendance table to the season records page then.... and I'll add to past seasons as I add the attendances for previous seasons to my database. I have them elsewhere, so it's just a matter of transferring them across. I intend on having an attendance page on venue and team pages in the future too.

Happy for suggestions on how the I for should appear

LaH thanks for that. That is a pity; I am sure there were plenty, including myself, who appreciated the time and effort you put into constructing the tables.
