If something no longer exists does that mean that any discussion would be about the past and not the situation now, if so why do former followers of the East Perth Football Club continue with their dribble. Get over it or is like the DLP, the democrats and good manners you cannot resist talking about them despite their demise.

As for some swans folk suggesting they come down and support your team, once a judas always a judas ( and yes the barb is a two edged sword abt the current situation).

get something straight grump. I would never support another club, could never do that. I simply do not support the Eagles infiltration of my club.

I am EP, but the former version. I don't like the new one, that's my choice.

For my sanity to remain intact (debatable I know), I get through this by supporting the competition overall. I only hope the competition, and that includes EastPerth, can thrive with dignity. You cant blame anyone for being sceptical.

If say Claremont got the Eagles alignment, you and every EP supporter would be scathing of it. And those at EP who say they wouldn't are deluded.

Respect my tough stance, just like I respect your acceptance. Good day to you.

Could you support another club if, say, a family member, like a son or something played for them?
I ask this as, i have noticed from personal experiance, that if somebody (a son of the family it was)plays for a club in the WAFL, whom the family has never supported being that it is now only seen as a feeder competition by many, they don't change their allegiance. The comment i copped was, i want to see "little johhny" do well and hopefully get drafted, but i could never support " i won't say who it was". I do understand this to an extent, but if it was an AFL club, i think the parents of "little johnny" would probably change their allegiance accordingly.
I suppose this could be seen as a good thing in one sense, as the left over supporters of the WAFL really do support their team, where as others now really do see it as just another competition to get through. Probably players included.
My cleaner is a lovely old lady who is a passionate Sth Fremantle supporter, but an even more passionate Fremantle supporter. She's 79 and as energetic as anyone i can imagine, however as an East Freo supporter, (yes we have our arguements) i asked her about her grandson who was being asked to come down and play for East Freo, due to where he lived. her comment was pretty much as i described above. Sure, she'll support him, go to games etc.. but whether it got any further than that, well unlikely.
Even she admited, that in the past, you would change your allegiance, as it was a lifetime thing, now it's seen as momentary till they get drafted, or move on to say the country leagues.

My acceptance or otherwise is not the point I am making, if you don't like it and have accepted that it has happened, have bleated for 15 months abt then don't you think it is time to move on!

As for my delusions and opinion of another club accepting the alignment it would depend on what I knew of the circumstances, the clubs situation and would it help my club before I expressed an opinion and once expressed I would leave it alone. I would only respond to those who attacked my opinion as I have here!

Me either, but it didn't happen straight away. We have now unfortunately had a generation now grow up not knowing anything other than WCE or FFC.

I, and many others would have had great satisfaction with the Eagles first premiership, as it was almost seen as a "get that up ya" scenario, but still remained loyal Swans.

With a club as successful as WCE, that is constantly in the media people will always become wound up in something.

Imagine if the generation of supporters of one of the WAFL club's transition from Rugby to Aussie Rules were still alive! woohoo that would be a biggy!

I don't know why it is but people in this country only watch the top level of sport or what is currently fashionable but never the next tier down, no matter how good it is.

The WAFL, The Sheffield Shield, etc suffer because of this but both are quality comps.

People seem to be more intent on waving to the camera at an Eagles game when there is a boundary throw in rather than watching the play.

I guess we're not the sport mad country we once were.

I mean they sometimes get 100,000 people at a college football game in America which is a tier down from their NFL. And when I lived in Argentina, I noticed that they get good crowds at their WAFL level rugby comps.

I'm not sure that making any massive structural changes to the WAFL will make any difference because we will always be the second tier in the eyes of WA people no matter what.

The only thing that can make a difference are promotions the size of West Perth's British/migrant/newcomer match that they've staged the last two years.

But I still reckon, despite everything, it is a good quality comp.

Yeah mate. We've lost one club. None of us like it of course but if we all jump off now the comp really will die. As we've seen the same upheaval has occurred in the SANFL also with Port Adelaide magpies becoming Port Power reserves and the Crows fielding a side on their own - not to mention the ABC coverage being replaced by channel 7, seven mate and 7 two. So it's testing times for both.

Maybe the thread title should of been beware of the imposters running the WAFL clubs, an example being schedule a league scratch match Swans v Perth only to have the Perth side not field one league player these are the sort of things that drive the supporters away from games.

In respect PN the decision on who plays is hardly made by the people that run the football clubs. That decision is made by the Football Coaches isn't it?

Well the website mentioned scratch matches against Swans, Peel and EF so to me that meant league sides, and reinforced by the fact that Swans had three quarters of a league squad out there.

With due respect to you I would say the people running the club put up false info on the website.

As I said pretty disrespectful to Perth Supporters and not to mention Swans.
