I heard that you're not the only Club.
Do 't know how true but where there's smoke etc.
Realistically tho a bit hard to go from $800k loss to viable in a minute.
Was it one years debt or consolidated?
Try years. Took us a long time to get over $350k consolidated debt that put at the precipice.

So glad we have lived within our means.
Now very viable.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Does anyone else find it quite amazing that 2 people in Barney & Mudlark who support the same WAFL club just happened to talk to "another club official" today who happened to name the club Townsend was alluding to?
Isnt there supposedly a confidentiality clause in place with a Perth Law firm getting involved with the WAFC?
Doesnt take much imagination to know which club these accusations are coming from!

Salary cap problems???
Mind boggles so far in debt.

This is very disappointing if true. I thought the new board was getting on top of all this stuff and yes I realise it takes a while to recover from excesses of the past. I wouldn't have thought there was too much coin flying around at Swans anyway and that's why many of the previously high paid players left in the first place?

For this to have happened - with many players leaving, some of the remaining players must have received a pay increase from last year?

It is hard to understand LH and I haven't seen the figures so I can't judge how far they are over and what they would have to do before the end of the season to get back on track, however the current board were elected on the basis of improved financial accountability and because Swans have already been fined for a previous breach and they are apparently the only team to be in breach of the cap at this stage of the season. If this is true the board have been at the very least untidy with their management of this issue. They cannot claim ignorance and it will be very disappointing if they have to drop some key players before the end of the season because of the threat of fines or loss of points. I am still finding it hard to believe that this is true.

Has every club signed the confidentiality contract yet? Also what basis does the WAFC have in making clubs sign it when they were the organisation that sent out the information?

Well it's been roughly one and a half hours now Beasley Hutton and nobody has found it amazing that Barney and I have come across the same info from two different club officials that your mob are involved again. Why don't you go and ask your own club officials if you don't want to believe what other club officials have found out .And by the way,my source has nothing to do with the Subi footy club whatsoever. If you were a ridgy didge supporter of Swans like you claim you are,why don't you point the finger at those responsible at your club rather than trying to shoot the messengers.

It would be bloody brilliant to see Swan Districts, East Fremantle, Subiaco and the Falcons make up the top 4. West Perth have another bye in Round 17 which will make it that little bit harder to advance any further. Unless West Perth string some wins together and the clubs above them drop games. Sad to say but looking as if they will not make up enough ground to sneak into the top 4.
But we never know what's around the corner. Could be that Round 23 may be the all important one?
