Surely now that Grant Duddington has left the WAFC building now is the time for the WAFL Grand Final to be moved back to the week after the AFL GF like they do in the SANFL.
As it stands at the moment the WAFL GF gets lost in the media with all the talk around the AFL Preliminary Finals especially when there is a WA team involved in it.
Move the WAFL GF to the weekend after the AFL GF and let the media focus on the Premier State League competition in the country!
It would make for wonderful exposure for our 130 year old League.
What do other posters reckon?

October GF and more Sunday fixtures would fix some of the problem. The SANFL has already worked this out.

Spot on BH!! It used to be early Oct in the halyon days, start the season later as well as its always red hot in March

Great idea - takes away any AFL competition to our gf. Surely attendances would grow - being the only A game in WA. We all talk about how the football scene is changing, well let's embrace this change.
It also puts the melancholia of the "no more footy for 6 months" off for 1 or 2 more weeks

Yep, all for it. It's a no-brainer which makes it hard to fathom why the WAFC hasn't cottoned on to it already because there sure aint a brain between that lot of gimps.

A stand-alone WAFL GF on the Saturday after the AFL GF. Makes a lot of sense and prevents what we're seeing this weekend with the WAFL GF getting drowned out by the AFL prelim finals because a WA team is there. Surely it can't be that hard.
