Be interested to see if West Adelaide have any of their Adelaide/Port players available....I know EF won't have any of their AFL boys.....I reckon Malaxos is gonna play his best team each weekend.....EF were lucky to get Kerr again though..too good for the WAFL that boy.

As you say Mikeh......Cl and WP are home and hosed for top two......EF will do very well to snatch a finals spot with their run home, they will be knackered come finals time tho....hopefully knackered but 100k better off.....SD will no doubt be keen to make the upmost of their luck in playing Peel again......EP have an easier run home the most.....whilst Perth will be disappointed with their loss today, still have plenty of games to sneak a spot.....probably playing WP in Moora may be a blessing.....though how bad are those injuries to Eyres and Bateman?.....McInnes and Tunbrdge won't be allowed to play on a country track by their employers....nor Mellington from WP....

be interested to see what happens next year when either of Peel or EP get a country fixture.....perhaps EF should arrange all their Peel or EP games for Gero next year.

Funny you mention Peel & EP playing country games in the future. I brought this up with a mate and the first thing I thought of was did these clubs even consider what their country members would think?

Rock the AFL most probably wont let their AFL players play in the country.

The kids in the country zones wont ever get to play League in the city as well due to the AFL presence at the clubs.. Their not going to move to Perth to play Ressies.

Country zones are now a waste of time for Peel and EP.

yeah but Cardy if the AFL are reluctant to play guys on country grounds, whose gonna play for Peel and EP next year/s when they do play in the country?......surely those two clubs can't be exempt from playing a few country games.....the WAFL is not all about the Perth metro area....it's about WA as a whole!

They wont play country games period. They will all but do nothing for their country zone...why would they? The Eagles and Dockers will look after them, they wont need them.

East Perth hosted a country game last year in Manjimup.

Also AFL players were involved in that game because East Perth made sure the ground that was chosen to host their CSES fixture didn't have a cricket pitch in the middle of the ground.

Maybe if East Perth played Peel in their country game, that would even out the disadvantage

I have sensed on a few threads that some people are almost seeing Claremont as a shadow of the team that has won the last two flags and ripe for the picking in the finals.

It's true that they haven't been as imposing as previous seasons and they have been winning games without looking overly impressive in the past 6 weeks or so. However I get the feeling that they are building up towards September and may start getting back to their best in the next few weeks.

I watched most of the second half of the ABC game at Claremont on Saturday and they were able to prevail despite East Perth throwing everything at them. In the early stages of the last quarter, the Royals had a lot of momentum as they surged to within a few points but the Tigers were then able to slow things down and retain possession and finally put their opposition away. It was an impressive performance I thought.

Some of their prime movers such as Blackwell and Foster are now back in form and they will be a lot harder to play from now on.

Look at the premiership table, they are 3 games ahead of their nearest rival, have only lost 2 games for the whole season and they have done this with a greater than average number of injuries to their key players

I accept that anything can happen in finals, however I really cannot see anybody competing with them if they are playing at their best

reminds me of 1972 when the tigers hardly lost a game but lost the one that counts. the grandfinal is played on the day so anything can happen. who knows if west perth, east perth, perth, swans, or east frem get there, they may get them at the right time. from past experience you cant rule out anything. having said that they are of course still my favourites.
