This will happen for the season 2025. It will give the no aligned clubs from WA and SA time to get their affairs in order.

Hate to say it but as has already been pointed out, it could then turn VFL, SANFL and WAFL into second tier comps. The best players at state leagues are going to try to get onto AFL reserves lists, this will be full of young players not drafted, or the mature types that could get there with full time training and support.

if anyone is stoopid enough to go into one of their Victorian state comp leagues after what they've done to most of their own comps - well they probably deserve full spray

SA and WA based teams could afford to fly another 40 or so people around the country every second week – including pay, and (accommodation, food and flights) when traveling.I reckon it would cost each club about $2 Million a year. 

There is no way WC will enter the VFL/NT comp though. Reason being is that all (all) games are played in the east or North of Aus. Not WA. They cant have their reserve players fly every week. 

They could and probably will push for an AFL reserves comp though. I reckon AFL squads will be increased to 70 players and  this AFL reserves comp will get up. 

In the mean time WC and Freo should be allowed to field the strongest teams possible in the WAFL – but not be allowed to play for WAFL premiership points.

Instead play for BHP Cup premiership points. All WAFL Clubs play the other WAFL clubs in the WAFL.All WAFL Clubs play the two WA based AFL clubs in the BHP Cup. 
This to be played concurrently.

TFAF - I dont think it will be a VFL/NT comp, i think the end goal here is for every team to have say 70 on their list, some as full time and some as part time, and every team has a reserves side that plays before their top side,

You would not need extra resources trainers would do 2 games like in the old days.

With Virgin as a major sponsor of the AFL surely chartering of plans and the like would not be that difficult or expensive?

I do like your idea you listed but i think this "Reserves AFL" push will gather legs very quickly in the coming months

Dont give a rats if both WA  AFL clubs piss off to the VFL or and AFLR as long as any shortfall of money coming from both clubs to the WAFL for the licence to play in our historic comp is made up by increasing the dividend to the WAFC who then provides that to the 8 WAFL clubs. It would be great to get back to an 8 team comp of 21 games over 3 rounds. Close up Peel and split their district back to the clubs that originally had it.  Dreamin' I know ......

They actually died in 2010. It was the last year they issued an annual report under their own name. Since 2011, they have been the defacto Power reserves team. Their playing figures against other clubs were rest from 2011 according to this posy from Talking Footy SA

In 2010, The Port Adelaide Football Club wanted to formalise a Reserves team in the SANFL. In doing so, it gave up its share in Football Park, its place on the Football Commission, its Junior Zones and signed up to an agreement with the SANFL under its AFL Parent Licence as the “Powers” seconds side and had agreements to run an Academy Side in the SANFL Reserves competition. The Old Port Adelaide amalgamated its assets (Prince of Wales Hotel) under its “One Club” drive and achieved its aim.
It is therefore time to realise that the stats for this side needed amending on official SANFL records and publications. it was incumbent to make sure that we record our history with accuracy and note that Port Adelaide (Magpies) must be seen as a new SANFL entity since 2011 seeking to win its first Senior Football Premiership.

Getting back on topic though, its great to see Nesbitt is finally walking away after all this time. He became too arrogant in the role and will be remembered as fondly as Jeff Ovens towards the end of his tenure as chairman of the WAFL.

With the Nesbit part, as an Eagles supporter, I too am glad he’s going and a fresh view is injected.  However, it’s hard to criticise his reign when you look at what the Eagles have achieved in the last 20 odd years.  A lot of clubs would love their history, the Freo dorks are one club that come to mind.
