How exactly is football worse off? the two AFL clubs got overly generous compo deals to move, have booming memberships, money is flowing is like no tomorrow despite crap teams, Optus is voted best stadium in the country if not the world...Keeping Subi? for what exactly? there is a High School there now? there's any number of suburban grounds that could be 2nd tier venues.

Building that now would be triple or more, if you ask me we got an absolute bargain for the price looking back. WA football isnt just WAFL, how much worse off are they? two GFs not played at Optus..one at Freo one at leederville both made wafl big profits once druing a covid crisis, yeah they sure are worse off.... 

 

Comments recently by Port Adelaide Chairman David Kosh.Has Port Adelaide leaving the Sanfl in 2024 or 25.
And joining the merged VFL/ NTFL competition.
That leaves only 3  AFL teams not participating in that competition.Adelaide Crows,West Coast and Freo.
My gut feel is West Coast will leave in 2028.When the AFL reserves competition starts.Freo will stay with Peel,it works well for them
And the Crows will remain loyal to the SANFL.
 

the old real Port Adelaide died around 4 or 5 years ago
and the rest of it went with Allan Scott when he passed away
everything was thrown into their now modern Victorian operations
and they don't really have a fantastic relationship with the SANFL a lot of that goes back to attempts to get into the old VFL & AFL
any breakaway attempt will see that old bad blood up again
