Their reserves side are 70 points down at halftime, and apparently were given a couple shark reserves players in order for them to to field a full side,so this is going from bad to worse.

Makes an absolute mockery of our competition. This game will be worth 8 points to East Fremantle with the percentage boost they get and who knows in a few weeks the Eagles may be a more competitive outfit by the time they play East Perth and Swans.
Nothing against the Sharks, good luck to them for taking advantage of the situation. The WAFC are the villians here

EF boosted their % by 42. What should happen is that the WAFC will refuse the Eagles a licence for next season. What is more likely is that the Eagles will demand better top up players and the WAFC will say "of course, who do you need?"

Seriously, it can't be that hard to put a positive spin on reverting to spreading players throughout the WAFL. They say they enjoyed success with that model before. That they are forging a different path to other AFL clubs. That they think it can only benefit their players to play with guys who sacrifice a lot to play at a semi professional level, and from being exposed to different coaching styles. All those things are true, and Eagles fans would accept whatever the board tells them. End this farce!!

Some thought it was unfair that the Sharks were missing three players who are playing in the state game.It is a perfect storm of injuries and covid for the Eagles.I doubt anybody wants a Eegles team that is too strong but like you Mike i will be a little bit worried if we have to play a Eagles side with Yeo,Sheed or Shuey  and a few others coming back from injury. You would hate to lose to this mob and even a narrow win could kill your season as  percentage could be vital.

Spot on RL, I remember the odd game back in my junior days playing in the EP zone, loaning players to the likes of Coolbinia and Noranda when they were perennial struggles in the late 70s and early 80s, just to get the match played......definitely embarrassing for all concerned.....especially those 2 EF boys.

There may be a glimmer of hope. Even the Eagles sycophants on the Big Footy site, having insisted for years that a stand alone reserves was the only way forward, are now starting to say that they would be better off going back to spreading players through the WAFL.

Tell me Ted, why are these died in the wool eagles supporters “sycophants “?  I now wonder, are there any Freo sycophants, Carlton sycophants, Perth FC sycophants???

They should play with the amateurs. Seriously an amateur side would be more competitive in the WAFL.
