Bugger all WAFL news anywere now. The West has less and less.

LoL pot calling the kettle black Townsend saying that. He used to get most his material right here on Ozfooty. Uncanny how often a news article by Townsend ended up in the West a day or two after something is revealed on here.

Townsend did some excellent stuff on the wafl during the covid break 2 seasons ago. A real shame he is not still at the west. Less wafl knowledge for them to draw on.

Maybe JT can log in here and post a weekly blog on the WAFL? Freelance journo? Or now you are a free man JT just log in here like the rest of us and engage in the discussions. I'm sure all Ozfooty veterans would welcome it.

If WA Today (CH9) are smart they might snap John Townsend up to join their team and start covering WAFL again. It might prompt me to ditch my West Online subscription for a WA Today subscription if they give a full and proper coverage of the WAFL.

It's about time the bloody news monopoly ended in WA.

Good point, I’d love to see a bit of JT’s footy wisdom here.  As for the news monopoly, you do realize that as a paid subscriber, you are supporting the monopoly DD?

Good point, I’d love to see a bit of JT’s footy wisdom here.  As for the news monopoly, you do realize that as a paid subscriber, you are supporting the monopoly DD?

Unlike you I don't rely on others to share the news and I don't mind paying less than I was probably paying over 15 years ago before news services and rags went online. I used to be a newspaper subscriber sometimes when they made good offers or I'd buy a paper at the local. I get all that now at my fingertips for less than a buck a day.

I'm happy to pay it. And I might add, there is no such thing as something for nothing. Do you think news is produced out of thin air?

Nothing like paying to read Harvey Norman adds in the Eagle Daily.

Or maybe if there were more subscribers they wouldn't need to plaster the front pages with Harvey Norman ads. Producing a paper and news doesn't come cheap. But hey you still go out of your way to read it don't you?
