4 WAFL boys taken in the AFL Midseason draft just completed. 

How do people feel about this? I'd be mighty pissed off to be losing someone like Connor West if I was a WP supporter or Matthew Parker if I was a SF supporter. Swans and Claremont also hit. Opportunity for the player I guess but what about the club who loses a player?

What can you do? Good for the players, as you say. You can't hold people back in their aspirations.  Didn't 100s nominate?

Money for nothing if one of your reserves players is taken in the draft

Yes, hopefully not another Jack Mayo disgraceful situation awaiting young Lane. 

Yeah, money for nothing, I can see that. 

There is no money for getting a player drafted. If somebody is good enough they’ll get taken in the multitude of pre season drafts. So Young Kalin Lane suddenly moves to Queensland halfway through a season and plays for a new side, as if that’s good for a kids development. Mid season draft is not needed by anybody and is just a media grab by the AFL

It was alleged that any WAFL drafted by the WA domiciled AFL teams would play for the WAFL club they were drafted from.

Of course, I may also have a bridge/opera house combination for sale.

The biggest joke of that whole mid season draft was the young bloke Collingwood picked up who is out for the whole rest of the season with a shoulder reconstruction.
How on earth is that allowed to happen?
I thought this draft was brought in for afl clubs to replace long term injured players with a similar player ready to come in and take their spot in the team during the current season not topping up for future years?????

BH do you have a comment about whether they players drafted by the Eagles will play for their original WAFL club or the reserves team of the Eagles?

You ask me what I think? Fucken Bullshit...our midfield struggles as it is, taking West out of our squad is just a kick in the ass,
Then you get other clubs who lose nobody, just shit!!!

It seems that  players draft in mid season from WAFL to WCE will continue to play WAFL with original club.
