Does anyone else want to see a return of the WAFL logo we had in the late 1970s & early 1980s?
That distinctive Black Swan in a W shape with a football at the top of his left wing.
It was 10000000 times better than that awful looking stylised current one!

Yep, I would prefer the Black and Gold Shield before the last change.

Current one is terrible.

Why on earth did they get rid of it for that current one which is bloody awful?
It was so distinctive and recognisable as the WAFL and WA football brand logo.
You would never see the SANFL change their logo which is also as recognisable!

Another dumb marketing decsion if you recall it was tied in with the crazy WEST STAR Rules change, the logo changed then and never returned to the Trad one.

Marketing clowns.

The SANFL and VFL have their Trad shields.

The current WAFL logo - never liked it and the addition of the new non WA colour ruined it.

Ah yes that is right...I had tried to forget that another Dorro disaster!
Must have felt sorry for him and kept the logo after changing the name back to the WAFL.

Well and truly time now to bring back the proper WAFL logo!

This idea that logo's and titles need to be changed every few years has infested so many private and government organisations in recent times. If there is a change of task or purpose for an organisation then no probs to make it relevant but the WAFL is the WAFL and is still WA's elite state football comp, so why the change. plus these changes are generally done without consultation with the people it's supposed to be representing or serving. Agree, the current one is shite!!

I am not sure what your WAFL watching time frame is SS but I am 40 years and counting virtually every week (must be close to 1000 games or so) and have never ever in that time been consulted or surveyed by anyone from the WAFC about my thoughts on the WAFL and the direction of WA Football in general at a game!
They do that online monkey survey that never asks any real hard questions about the WAFL.
I have by my own club but never the WAFC!

I'd love to see the traditional logo re-instated mate - it has a unique feature and belongs to us , looked brilliant on our jumpers including the State one
loved the inaugural state of origin guernsey too

Bh: I tend to agree with Southerner, preferring to go all the way back to the WANFL name and logo. Going back to this would eliminate the unfortunate 'wafl' thing which has crept into the language. I never heard this as a kid. always hearrinng, 'WA FL'

And I thought it was just me that is baffled and annoyed at the ‘Waffle’ thing. You would have been ridiculed if you said that when I was a kid ? .
It’s up there with playing ‘AFL’ instead of footy when you go kick the ball around the park
