could be a West Perth v Claremont GF after all

I am sure TC will rev your boys up for this one, Shaw normally kills us as we can
never stop him, looks like it might rain again on Sunday..

Falcon, if it rains it will boost your chances significantly, both groups of mids are highly skilled but your mob have far more grunt than Souths, Keitel is proving to be a real key up forward, his physical presence has surprised me, but then I dont see him every week.
If it is a fine day with light breezes I think Souths would be strong favourites but another wet n windy day will see your mob as fav's.

History favours a South Fremantle v Claremont Grand final. In the last 50 finals series in the WAFL, the losing 2nd semi finalists have been able to win a place in the grand final on 35 occasions (70%). Also they have been able to reverse the result 17 times out of the 35, so don't lose hope Doggies fans.
By contrast teams like West Perth who come through 1st semi or elimination finals have only been able to make the grand final 15 times in the 50 years and have only managed to win 4 premierships out of these 15, they were
1976 ( Perth)
1979(East Fremantle)
1983 ( Swans)
2016 (Peel)
So the odds are very much in favour of Souths getting another crack at Claremont and hopefully producing a better effort this time. The system heavily favours the teams with a double chance as it should I guess. Looks like the weather is going to be fine on Sunday so thats another advantage to the Bulldogs.

Just been gazing into the crystal ball and a maximum temperature of 21ยบ with partly cloudy conditions is looking like the conditions for the Preliminary Final.

That forecast swings things back to the Doggies IMHO, they are a more skilled team in the right conditions and have more good talls.

SF look like they have hit a road block....like what another poster mentioned before....took forever to shake off Peel...came from behind v EP...Perth should of beaten SF by 7 goals, but spared their blushes by kicking 1.8 instead of 8.1....goaless till half time last weekend...making that three 1/4 on the trot including the Perth last 1/4...that is EFesque like TBH....big job for Curley to get them up to beat WP I reckon...but hey you don't finish minor premiers for no reason....should be a great game.

six years--that is how long Curley has coached-- nobody should last that long without winning a flag; Spalding has also coached for six seasons; Bunton coached Subi for ten years in two stages without winning the flag. Sheedy also coached EP for six years without winning the flag. The last two, of course, had won them in the past.

Even Sir Clive Lewington only coached South for four seasons without winning the flag. He won four flags before that.

A point of order there AR....Bunts Jr coached Subi from 1968 to 1972 and had them primed for Ross Smith to take them to a flag in 73. He then coached them from 1984 to 1992 and won 2 flags in 86 and 88....
