I realise that for some this will be false news as the source is the left wing ABC but on the way home from the beach this morning that communist broadcaster Corbin Middlemas had another leaked document from the WAFC.

It was one of those staff surveys that proliferate businesses these days, you know the ones tat ask are you happy with those above, beside and around you, does the organisation meet its values etc.

It would appear that the WAFC performs abysmally in a number of key indicators around values, performance management and so on!

So what does this tell us, well for me it would seem that it is a basket case within and not just in the way manages football in this state. I reckon it will get worse unless or until the clubs wrest control back and start making decisions for themselves sorta like in a communal (oops more left wing thoughts) way!

whole thing mirrors the Vicco league - the mere fact that more than half of the annual money/budget goes to places other than the very game itself in any form at all should be alarming to any government department
serious problems if it takes 80% of the funds to administer our WA game

the WAFL met with clubs yesterday, would have been an interesting meeting.
apparently they have 5 blokes looking after umpiring and 9 million on salaries yet combined grants to non-aligned WAFL clubs 2.4 mill.

Gees things must be bad there if there are an extraordinary 134 staff getting paid a combined $9 million and they still are not happy!
Just thinking back to the good ol days again when WA Football was at its peak in the late 70s early 80s there would have been probably a dozen or more staff lead by General Manager Peter Bowler & Chaired by Jim Davies then Vince Yovich before they brought in the Independent Board of Directors in 1984 after a Government appointed task force recommendation.
It would be fair to say tings have headed down hill ever since both on and off the field.

I see they've announced a parliamentary inquiry into the WAFC and how they use their money from the government. Hopefully it will unveil just how poor the commission is and the state, and more importantly football public, is not getting bang for its buck.

No wonder they have done absolutely nothing about bringing the WAFL season forward to July 4 to avoid the Vicco stampede....they have been to busy pooping their pants!

Unfortunately the Wafl clubs voted 6-2.To form the West Coast Eagles in the expanded VFL competition.
34 years down the track.Don't think the Wafl clubs had any idea. The Eagles and Dockers are controlled by the Wafc not the Wafl clubs.
The Wafl clubs will do what there told by the Commission. As they are totally dependent on the Commissions money. The AFL are the puppet masters here. It's just perplexing that a Wa state government department. Answers to an eastern States organisation.

I think it is pretty clear that the WAFC, whatever their alleged sins, is not a government department.
